Model Overview:

Since its launch in 1973, the Honda Civic has been one of the most popular compact cars sold in America. Its success can be attributed in large part to its consistently high level of quality inside and out and its long-standing reputation for reliability and low running costs. Impressive fuel economy and engaging performance have also played a role in making the Civic a top choice for many Americans.

The competition has largely caught up with Honda, though, and there are now many excellent small cars vying for your attention. Still, we continue to recommend the Civic due to its ergonomic interior layout, wide range of models and high resale value. For small-car shoppers in search of a solid used vehicle, the Honda Civic is certainly a smart choice, as its long production run and many variants make it easy to find what you want.

  • As Expected from Honda - 2005 Honda Civic

Great car to own. Love the design and the look of this car. Enough power for its size. Getting around 30+mpg no matter how I drive it. Surprisingly spacious for a small car (I am 63, 200+lb, and this is a coupe!), comfortable ride for short/long trips, for the amount of money you pay this car is well worth it.

  • No longer a Ford Fan - 2006 Honda Civic

With recent gas prices hovering around three dollars a gallon I needed some thing with better fule economy. I have been a loyal Ford owner since I started driving. But Ford doesnt have any thing close that will get the gas millage of my Civic. However I have not seen the advertised 40 mpg on the highway. The best mileage I have gotten is 38 mpg. Which Im not complaining. The vehicle handles excellent. Smooth ride but a little bit of road noise. I like how the instrument cluster looks and how the interrior is made. I have enjoyed my first Honda and I am planning on getting rid of my Ford Explorer for the new Honda CR-V thats comming out this fall.

  • My first new car & I love it - 2007 Honda Civic

I just recently purchase my Civic yesterday. I waited a week trying to decide over a Acura RSX or the Scion tC. The RSX insurance was insane since Im only 20 and its a sports car. Hondas are known to be excellent cars and so far for the 24 hours that Ive had mine, its great. I love how roomy it is for a civic. The silver paint is beautiful, and I love the overall design.

  • Excellent car for the money - 2009 Honda Civic

I average about 30.5 mpg with a heavy foot in hwy and city driving. This car meets all my needs and I love my dealer added XM radio w/the display. This baby keeps up with the fast cars. A quiet ride and stylish- I like the fact that Honda re-added the silver strip to the back of the car like the old Civics had. I love Hondas and would re-purchase this one.

  • Problem starting - 2008 Honda Civic
    By -

This is a brand-new 2008 Civic, only 4 months old, 10k-km (6k miles) yet it has more problems starting than my 15 year old Chrysler. As soon as the cool weather hit - bam, ran into trouble. You have to crank and crank and crank it before it finally starts and then it runs roughly before finally idling. Sometimes I crank it and just stop and wait before trying again. Today it was -15C (5F) and the engine would not even turn over. I turned the key all the way to "start" - nothing. Engine would not even respond. I am very disappointed in this car. If I cant depend on it to start in the cold weather, what else can go wrong?

  • Needs further gas mileage testing - 2003 Honda Civic
    By -

The car has been a great buy for me with only one down turn. They advertise that it averages 48 mpg city and 47 mpg highway, but I havent even been there yet and I have 5000 miles on the car. I average 38 mpg which is good, but not good as advertised. The rest of the car is great.

    So far, so good.

  • Finally a solid vehicle - 2003 Honda Civic

This is the first time I have purchased a Japanee nameplate after many unhappy years with American vehicles. I am quite pleased with the build quality of the vehicle, far superior to the Dodge vehicles that I have been driving. I really love the gas mileage. I do mostly highway driving and I have been averaging about 42 mpg. My wife loves to drive the Civic around town, when she can get her hands on the vehicle. My teenage daughter loves the styling. Seems this vehicle has pleased everyone.

  • The most reliable car Ive ever owned! - 1997 Honda Civic
    By -

Honda has a long-standing tradition of producing vehicles that are extremely reliable, well-built, and fun to drive. My 97 Civic LX sedan is no exception. Purchased by the original owner in 10/2001, Ive only had to replace the battery. The original owner is also a family friend, and with regulary scheduled maintenance, the battery is the only thing that has EVER needed to be replaced. After six years and 85,000 miles, the car still looks and drives like new; no rattles, rust, interior wear - this car was built to last.

  • Awesome little car! - 2004 Honda Civic
    By -

I had a 2002 civic LX and traded it for a 2004 Chev Malibu thinking I would appreciate the larger car with more bells and whistles. WRONG! I had the Malibu for a year and a half and here I am...back in a civic. I absolutely love Hondas and i will NEVER buy from another auto maker. People say "never say never" but I tell them to drive a Honda...youll see!!! My only complaint is the Firestone FR690 tires that come with the car are dangerous. I changed them to Michelins and we are back in action. LOVE IT!!
