Since its launch in 1973, the Honda Civic has been one of the most popular compact cars sold in America. Its success can be attributed in large part to its consistently high level of quality inside and out and its long-standing reputation for reliability and low running costs. Impressive fuel economy and engaging performance have also played a role in making the Civic a top choice for many Americans.
The competition has largely caught up with Honda, though, and there are now many excellent small cars vying for your attention. Still, we continue to recommend the Civic due to its ergonomic interior layout, wide range of models and high resale value. For small-car shoppers in search of a solid used vehicle, the Honda Civic is certainly a smart choice, as its long production run and many variants make it easy to find what you want.

great car - 2006 Honda Civic
By jaykay - February 24 - 2:13 amI traded in a 2003 Accord for the Civic Hybrid because of mileage and safety. I had a Civic as my starter car 25 years ago and how it has changed! Very comfortable (leather would have been OK but I guess treehuggers dont want animal skins). Rides great and I am having fun learning gas saving techniques. So far 44 mpg. Handles great, nice suspension, I still giggle when the engine just shuts off at a stop.

Civic VP - 2000 Honda Civic

Although, the 6600 rpm redlines and 106 hp doesnt appeal much to the street racers, with a few mods, this has the potential to be a speed demon. the comfort is exquisite for a sedan priced just under 16000. With smooth suspension, and great handeling, the civic vp is a perfect choice for those who seek comfort, looks, and safety.

A reliable and low cost maintenance automobile! - 2004 Honda Civic

The car is completely dependable. When it hasnt been driven for several weeks, it will still start up immediately. My next car will be another Honda~

first new car purchase - 2006 Honda Civic
By charrod76 - February 22 - 2:43 amBefore I went to the Honda dealership I had no idea what the new civic looked like. I seen it, test drove it and bought it the next day. Ive owned a grand am, mystique, eclipse covertable and now this honda. This is by far the best built and fuel efficent car Ive had. My only regret is not getting the better wheels that the ex has. I bought this car on Hondas reputation for durability. I plan to have this car for 10 years. Excellent gas mileage!! Gas is going up, but I dont care with the gas mileage this honda gets. I love it.

Great Car with Annoying Touch Screen Display Fault - 2016 Honda Civic
By David - February 20 - 11:03 pmBuy this car with a good warranty, The Handsfree Phone Link with the iPhone 7 could be better. I cannot skip forward on Audio Books using the car controls. Defective Touch Screen was replaced within one day by Dealer free of charge. Too bad there is no indication that the new replacement is any different then the bad unit before it went bad. I highly recommend this vehicle as it rides smooth and gets super gas mileage. MPG starts at 30 when cold and goes to 35MPG after 5mins of warming up in the city then I have seen over 45MPG on the highway while still providing significant acceleration. Short couple mile city trips I still get over 30MPG. Its easy to AVG 35MPG. Turbo Engine uses regular fuel. The quick Fuel feature is so nice, no gas cap needed. Compared to the old 2007 Honda Civic I had this is more comfortable, better MPG, Faster, Quieter and all around better. Honda just needs to address the electronic quality issues. You get a lot for your money when buying a car that sell over 300,000 units per year including easy cheap maintenance costs. Also that makes for more negative comments as for the same percentage of defect rate there are more cars so I would not let that scare people away.

Fan fricking tastic car. - 2016 Honda Civic

I cant say enough good things about this car and its hard to criticize much of anything. The good. Honda hit a home run IMO when it comes to styling, comfort, and just being a darn fun car to drive. Oh. Its cheap too. Fuel economy is through the roof. The CVT is just fine, it shifts the car better than you can. Acceleration is more than pleasant, bordering on giggly fun. If you want brutal youre gonna have to go buy a Charger Hellcat or similar. Dont expect a Civic to compete with that. My gripes are few. Two to be exact. Visibility out the rear window could be a little better (but its still not too bad) and the GUI for the touch screen radio .... interface .... thing was apparently designed by an engineer and not a normal, ya know, person. Good luck finding a radio station. Or the radio for that matter. The volume knob is actually for climate control. huh. ok. The steering wheel mounted buttons work far better and are easy to use thankfully.
