Model Overview:

Since its launch in 1973, the Honda Civic has been one of the most popular compact cars sold in America. Its success can be attributed in large part to its consistently high level of quality inside and out and its long-standing reputation for reliability and low running costs. Impressive fuel economy and engaging performance have also played a role in making the Civic a top choice for many Americans.

The competition has largely caught up with Honda, though, and there are now many excellent small cars vying for your attention. Still, we continue to recommend the Civic due to its ergonomic interior layout, wide range of models and high resale value. For small-car shoppers in search of a solid used vehicle, the Honda Civic is certainly a smart choice, as its long production run and many variants make it easy to find what you want.

Great commuter car for 2 people, I wouldnt want to spend much time in the back seat. 42.2 mpg on my 2nd tank on the interstate. At 75mph the engine turns only 2500rpm and is pretty quiet - its a Civic, not a Mercedes. Cool redesign put it at the top of my list which included Toyota, Hyundai, VW and Scion. Vision out the right side and back isint great.. The 2 tier instrument panel is fine. Engine is pretty peppy considering the gas mileage plus the automatic transmission is very smooth.. Theyll sell every one they can make.

  • Excellent Car To Own - 2005 Honda Civic

I purchased an 05 Civic EX in Nov of 2004. It cost me a little more in California at 18k but it was worth it. Ive gone on several long trips with the car and average about 420 miles per gas tank which is a little below what is advertised. The car has sat in storage two separate times for 7 months and did suffer some slight sun damage which is unavoidable in California. The biggest problem ive had with the car is a small piece of plastic on the drivers side interior door handle that comes loose periodically. I have not had any cold weather starting problems here in California as low as the temps get which about freezing. Ive only spent money on basic maintenance and aftermarket mods.

  • Beautiful Car - 2002 Honda Civic

I love the car. I do wish like all the other people that Honda would have put a little more power into it. The car is really light and is sometimes a problem to drive in rain.

  • Nice Surprise! - 2005 Honda Civic
    By -

I decided to clean house and reorganize my "rolling stock." Got rid of my 03 Dodge Ram and my power boat . . . and get a Honda Civic LX. What a switch, huh? I never could park that Ram! Actually, I drive to and from work almost exclusively, and the economy and comfort of the Civic is just right for me (Im 6 2" tall, mid-50s, male). The build quality seems very nice, and the paint is thick and smooth. It came well equipped for an economy car, and I am very pleased. Also, Ive gone from 10 mpg to 29 mpg in town. Now that is nice! My gas savings alone will make the payment.

  • A Little "Timex" on Wheels! - 1998 Honda Civic
    By -

Thats right! I call it my little "Timex" because it takes a lickin and keeps on tickin! I bought this car in March 1998 with 15 miles on it, and had factory AC installed--but aside from that the car was stripped down and completely utilitarian in nature. Love this car because it is a study in simplicity! In the 9 years I have owned this car, NOTHING has ever gone wrong with it and it has never left me stranded. Aside from oil changes, the occasional purchase of new tires, and a new battery, everything else has been regularly scheduled tune-ups, maintenance, or replacement of things such as a new timing belt and a manifold. Great car! Very pleased with the reliability and affordability!

  • Nice, economical car - 2008 Honda Civic

I bought my LX Sedan about a month ago and really like it. I put a pair of wrist (sweat) bands around the emergency brake. The brake hurt my leg due to its placement but now its fine with the pad. I live in a very cold environment which kills MPG but I am getting 30 MPG Combined City/Hwy. The motor is new, and Im sure MPG will improve when its breken in and the weather warms up. It has plenty of power, I have owned vettes and trans ams, and Im happy with the acceleration of my new Honda. Its not noisy on the highway like some have reported. It is a small car and you do hear the road a little, and you feel all the bumps, but as I pass the gas stations ($3.39 a gallon) I am smiling!

  • THE NEW SI - 2003 Honda Civic
    By -

This is a wonderful car. It is great to travel in due to its compact design. It is easy to clean and keep up with also. The part that i love the most is that not to many people have them yet, so it makes you stand out some.
