Model Overview:

Since its launch in 1973, the Honda Civic has been one of the most popular compact cars sold in America. Its success can be attributed in large part to its consistently high level of quality inside and out and its long-standing reputation for reliability and low running costs. Impressive fuel economy and engaging performance have also played a role in making the Civic a top choice for many Americans.

The competition has largely caught up with Honda, though, and there are now many excellent small cars vying for your attention. Still, we continue to recommend the Civic due to its ergonomic interior layout, wide range of models and high resale value. For small-car shoppers in search of a solid used vehicle, the Honda Civic is certainly a smart choice, as its long production run and many variants make it easy to find what you want.

  • The Perfect commuter car - 2004 Honda Civic

I bought ours with a 5 speed manual to get the most out of the engine. I rate the performance as a 10, because it does exactly what we bought the car for - a commuter car. Quality is exceptional - flawless. No rattles and were at 49K mi. I put tinted windows and 17" chrome wheels on her and it improved the look. Gas mileage is great. Put the key in and she wants to go. Easy to drive. Reliable. Well engineered. About as close to perfection as you can get.

Ive had my 2 dr VP Honda Civic for nearly two years. Its great fun to drive, has never had a mechanical problem, and still gives me great mileage even around the city. In addition, 5 years into my financing agreement and Im in a positive equity situation which should improve month-on-month over the next few years. A great investment, a great car.

  • AWESOME CAR - 2006 Honda Civic

Had a deposit on it in Oct, finally came in late Jan 06. It looks great, inside and out, feels great, sounds great. I love driving it. Have made several long trips with out a problem. Drove to Key West and back from Pensacola, also up to Virginia and South Carolina where I live now. Great on the highway, great around town. Very fun on windy mountain roads ;) It is very quick, if need be, handles like a champ. I absolutly love this car!

We just purchased our Si. We also looked at Mini and VW GTI. This car is far and away the best value of the three, arguably the best built, most likely the most reliable, and an absolute hoot to drive.

Honda is there. I love my Honda..............

  • Smart buy but not perfect - 2008 Honda Civic
    By -

This is my fourth Honda, following a 91 Civic, a 96 Accord, and an 05 CR-V. I traded in the Accord for this Civic and was a little disappointed in how "hard" the seats and interior space feel compared to an eleven-year- old car. I know the cars are in two different segments; still, I wouldve liked to discover that that decade plus brought more refinement. This Civic feels much the way my 91 Civic felt back then when it was new. Nevertheless, it is reasonably comfortable and roomy enough for a six-footer and his 511" wife and their two children. The manual shifter is smooth, and the engine feels strong for a car this size. Especially pleasant is the handling; it rides more like a Jetta.

  • Would Do it again and again - 2003 Honda Civic

This car has filled most all we expected it too. the only complaint we have is we average about 35 Hwy and the sticker said 38 when we bought it. We bought it new and have 90,000 miles on it and have only changed the oil when we were supposed to. Great little car.

  • Quality economy car, fun to drive - 2005 Honda Civic
    By -

We gave up our big cushy Olds Aurora when we got the 05 Civic EX SE. Ive not once regretted it. Reliable is an understatement, as it has not once had an issues. It just runs and runs well. The 5-speed manual is really peppy and is probably the biggest reason that I enjoy driving this car. Fuel economy is around 32 mpg with a pretty even mix of city/highway miles. The interior is considerably more comfortable than any other economy car Ive used. We have Corollas and Cavaliers at work and they are cheap feeling in comparison. The interior and trunk were designed well. The family rides comfortably and the golf clubs easily fit in the trunk! With snow tires, it handles winter well.

  • another great Honda from Sierra Honda - 2016 Honda Civic

Honda is a reliable brand. You get what you pay for and for what you expected to get.

  • Just all around fantastic - 2006 Honda Civic
    By -

I researched this car thoroughly and compared it with the Toyota Corolla and Mazda3, and I am so happy I bought the Civic. The gist: sleek exterior design; a simple, stylish, and functional interior design; good handling, and great gas mileage. The ride is smooth and I dont think road noise is as bad as other reviewers claim. I got the Tango Red Pearl color and I have received a plethora of compliments about this car. I love it!
