Model Overview:

Since its launch in 1973, the Honda Civic has been one of the most popular compact cars sold in America. Its success can be attributed in large part to its consistently high level of quality inside and out and its long-standing reputation for reliability and low running costs. Impressive fuel economy and engaging performance have also played a role in making the Civic a top choice for many Americans.

The competition has largely caught up with Honda, though, and there are now many excellent small cars vying for your attention. Still, we continue to recommend the Civic due to its ergonomic interior layout, wide range of models and high resale value. For small-car shoppers in search of a solid used vehicle, the Honda Civic is certainly a smart choice, as its long production run and many variants make it easy to find what you want.

Never had any problems with the vehicle. Would like a little more storage on the interior for maps and cds. Ride is quite bumpy but you can expect that from any small car. Really fun to drive. From all the reviews Ive read, you cant beat the quality and value of this car.

I am very pleased with my Honda Civic Hybrid it is better than I had hoped for. I purchased this vehicle to commute in Los Angeles traffic and it performs great - the comfort level is very good. I have been driving about 43 years and would recommend this vehicle to everyone who needs a great car at a very good price. I am considering purchasing a second one for my daughter.

I love my 2008 Civic Hybrid! Great gas mileage 46 with combo hwy and city driving! Great handling! Good pickup - way better than the 2007 Camry I owned/endured for 6 months before getting rid of it and buying the Hybrid! The Civic Hybrid is quiet and well built. The gas engine shuts down when stopped to save gas! A major plus for traffic jams or a slow crawl in to work! Interior is spacious - only a few inches smaller than the 2007 Camry! Backseat is fairly roomy - not huge, but certainly adequate. Interior styling is nice - two tiered dash with digital mph readout, mpg calculator, outside temp, etc.

This is my third Honda, and my first Civic. My last two were accords, both bought new. I just sold my 91, with 326k on the odometer, for $1,800! Looked and ran almost as good as new. You take good care of a Honda and itll return the favor. This Civic is an awesome little car, roomy, zippy, comfortable. The gas mileage is fantastic. I have a heavy foot and its hot where I live in the summer. I usually set the cruise control at 75, drive 50 miles a day, 5 days a week, with the A/C on, and Ive been averaging 34 mpg! The build quality is typical Honda, tight panel gaps, no creaks or rattles. Overall, I have zero complaints. Honda has done it again!

This is our 4th Civic and has been a low cost car to operate with a reliable engine and transmission. We bought this one new and replaced brakes, tires exhaust and alternator by 150K. Repaired electric locks but drivers door is manual since repair is too expensive. With an A/T hill climbing is tough with the A/C on or with a full load of people or luggage. A/C is weak. It has more rattles and noise than our other cars developed and dings easily. There is no trunk light. The trunk opening is poorly designed and tends to channel rain into the tail lights and into the trunk. Cup holder design and location is poor as is charger location. Small items that irritate after 9 years.

  • Better than Civics of 2007 - 1998 Honda Civic

What can I say? I bought this car in October of 1998, it spent two years on a trickle charger while I was stationed overseas from 2001-2003, and then started up like I never left when I got back to the U.S. Aside from the A/C that imploded last summer at 100,000 miles (~1800 bucks to replace the whole system--yikes!) and an exhaust leak noticed at 80,000 (no need to replace), I have had absolutely no problems with this car. Take it in for scheduled maintainance and forget your worries.

My car; a 2000 Honda Civic HX coupe w/ CVT (Continuously Variable Automatic Transmission).--After more than 2 years I am still in love with this car! It handles great- quick and responsive! Excellent fuel economy- I average 37mpg! Good ergonomics- all the controls fall easily at hand. The CVT never searches or lurches, and its much more fun than a traditional automatic. Ive never had a single problem with this car!

Ok, I realize this is not a state of the art Porsche 911 Carrera 4, so all the ratings of 10 I gave it are within its class. Yes there are more powerful better handling, more comfortable cars sold. However, for what this car is designed to do, there is probably no better car avaiable. This car is put together very well, handles terrific and gets better gas mileage than any other non hybrid coupe for 2006. It is plenty fast for me and has plenty of room for my 61" body. The 5 speed shifts smoothly and all the controls are intuitive. If I had to find a complaint, it would be that Honda no longer offers the VP model which is what I would have prefered and their color options are limited. Shop several dealers, I had prices vary over a thousand dollars.

I have done my research and it paid off. Everything about it is so different from any other car out there! Safety features are outstanding for a car in this class. I cant say enough about this car. I am 61 and fit in the car perfectly. as long as nobody plans to sit behind me.
