Model Overview:

Since its launch in 1973, the Honda Civic has been one of the most popular compact cars sold in America. Its success can be attributed in large part to its consistently high level of quality inside and out and its long-standing reputation for reliability and low running costs. Impressive fuel economy and engaging performance have also played a role in making the Civic a top choice for many Americans.

The competition has largely caught up with Honda, though, and there are now many excellent small cars vying for your attention. Still, we continue to recommend the Civic due to its ergonomic interior layout, wide range of models and high resale value. For small-car shoppers in search of a solid used vehicle, the Honda Civic is certainly a smart choice, as its long production run and many variants make it easy to find what you want.

  • Civic coupe manual - 2008 Honda Civic

Had my LX coupe 5sp manual for a year now, 0 problems, its comfortable, pretty stiff though, but I like it. I do about 30 MPG and all of them are in the city, and very short drives. No real space in the back, kids will do fine. Front is very spacious, Im 64" and its fine, drives well, second gear sometimes wont go in.

  • Name says it all! Honda Civic EX Coupe! - 1998 Honda Civic

This car has been awesome. Owned it for almost 10 years. Just tripped 64k and still runs like a top. But times have changed and Ive gone from just me to a wife, 2 kids, and me. So, Im going from one extreme to another... trading it in on a 2007 Tundra CrewMax. Its hard to let go, but it must be done. I know someone else will enjoy it for another 10 years or more.

  • I know this car - 2009 Honda Civic

I went thru this car, changed out stereo for hands free bluetooth, pandora, sirus, all apps and more bells whistles. Then I put remote starter, and tinted the windows. This car is below 74K and treated like a baby. Its still driving tight and brand new.

  • Who needs a Porshe for FUN! - 2008 Honda Civic

I have driven mostly luxury cars (BMW 325, IS250) and after 3 months still cant believe how great this car is. I have to remind myself I am in a economy car. Well-mannered, fast, comfortable. I get more looks than I did in my lux cars. Yes, I opted for the loaded SI/NAV and added blk leather, tinted windows. Civic SI is bringing sexy back! And valet guys fight to park it.

  • Wonderful car - 2006 Honda Civic

This lovely new Civic is surprisingly roomy on the inside, with its cab- forward design. The drivers controls are very well designed and everything is within easy reach and control. I do about 70 city and 30 highway driving and Im getting an average of 36 mpg. I totally agree with Justin on those getting bad mileages--improve your driving skills and lower your speed! Case in point: Driving on country highways at the 55 mph speed limit, I have been getting a consistent 41 mpg on my Civic. Driving at 75 mpg on the interstate, it quickly drops to 37 mpg. Overall, it drives well, handles well, has enough power, and most importantly, looks great and is fun to drive.

  • Nice car for the money - 2017 Honda Civic

Consider upgrading to leather seats for the adjustability. In our experience Honda leather seats look like [non-permissible content removed] after about 6 years. I like cloth seats so I opted for the ex, but after a month in the car I wish I had more adjustments on the drivers seats. Other than the seat issue I like the combination of nice features and the lower cost of the ex model. Looked closely at Mazda 3 and Subaru empreza. Ruled out impreza, similar equipped Subaru cost more, did not need or want all wheel drive. Mazda was close second and nice car for the money but the closest dealer was just a Hassle to get to and the Honda had more zip from the turbo charged motor.

  • Very happy - 2003 Honda Civic

This car looks great inside and out especially the lighted dash. It is very reliable and gets good gas mileage. My first tanks of gas have given me 36,32,29,35 and 36 mpg with the last two being mostly highway during the summer. The most important thing about this car is the peace of mind it gives me knowing Honda’s reputation for quality. But, this car is not fun to drive or comfortable (although I’m 62" and fit fine) and is definitely underpowered. The car is also really loud. I still recommend this car though.

  • Good Car...Comfort Questionable - 2006 Honda Civic

Decided to get rid of the gas guzzler and get MPG champ. I was not disappointed. I see about 36 MPG up from the 15-16 I was getting before. A few things wrong though. Back deck rattles a bit when playing music, which I didnt expect considering hondas usual build quality. And the E- Brake placement is annoying. I have to place something between my knee and the brake to stay comfortable on my 40 mile commute. Overall a good car, but comfort is not that great. The EX came with everything I wanted in a car for a pretty decent price, I do not regret the purchase.

  • Always Fun, Especially Passing Gas Pumps - 2004 Honda Civic

I am getting better mileage than what it is rated at. I am at 49MPG combined 90% Highway 10% City. I drive 45 miles each way to work on all on highway in Denver. Today though the best 550 miles with 1/4 tank still left and 90 degrees all week long. I only spent $1500 in gas for 2006 and that is 35000 miles and 3 trips to Oklahoma, 1 Nebraska. In 2005 I had a 1997 Saturn and spent $2900 and no trips, just work and around town and only went 26000 miles and gas was much cheaper then. Everyone who tried to talk me out of the Hybrid now wants one. But if you buy a Hybrid a Civic or Prius is the only way to go.

  • nice, but could be better - 2001 Honda Civic

good, solid car, but I miss my eg hatchback with its better suspenion and handeling. All other new Hondas and Acuras get big power upgrades, except the civics.
