Model Overview:

Since its launch in 1973, the Honda Civic has been one of the most popular compact cars sold in America. Its success can be attributed in large part to its consistently high level of quality inside and out and its long-standing reputation for reliability and low running costs. Impressive fuel economy and engaging performance have also played a role in making the Civic a top choice for many Americans.

The competition has largely caught up with Honda, though, and there are now many excellent small cars vying for your attention. Still, we continue to recommend the Civic due to its ergonomic interior layout, wide range of models and high resale value. For small-car shoppers in search of a solid used vehicle, the Honda Civic is certainly a smart choice, as its long production run and many variants make it easy to find what you want.

Bought my 5th Honda product (including 1 lawn mower) back in 2001. We really enjoy the room that this car has and the gas mileage is incredible (35-42 MPG). Front end suspension is very noisy and loose feeling. The interior needs a little more attention to detail and the radio needs more power.

The 540 watt stereo is awesome!! My old Civic Coupe (2009) had a very good premium stereo but this is waaaaay better! The turbo makes this car very quick. Imagine my surprise to find out this was on a tank of regular unleaded gas. Premium gives the car another 2-3 HP. Not sure I need that but it will be fun to try it out! I had my doubts about the CVT transmission but its quite smooth and enjoyable. Purists will tell you they have to have a manual transmission to get the best performance. Pish posh! This car is fantastic without it. Had to wait to get the first blue one in Oregon but well worth the wait. The heated leather seats are great when its cold and should eliminate the problem of getting dog hair off the seats that I have with my old Civic. I will take me a while to get all of it off so I can put it on the market.

My mpg avg for 4000+ miles (B trip odo) is 52! Driving locally @ 60-65mph and normal in-town driving is 53-55 mpg! Only unusual maintenance was recall for fuel computer reboot. I Like my Civic Hybrid 5sp! Total mileage since new is 116xxx and brakes are still about 50+%. I wish Honda still offered the manual tranny, Id buy a new one with navi option. The only downside is the lack of power, but I didnt buy it for power. You have to plan ahead to pass. Going up long grades can be slow.

  • Just what Ive been waiting for - 2003 Honda Civic

This car gets great gas mileage for being a 4 seater. And it still drives as you expect a civic to drive. So far, Im very happy with it.

  • Very Nice - 2009 Honda Civic

This is a fantastic car overall, quite comfortable and very well executed. Just gave back leased 2005 civic and bought this one with all the items EX- L model. Surprised at how innovative this car is compared to the 05 and thats meant in the best way possible, if shopping for a new car in this price range or even a slightly higher price range, give the civic a drive, youll enjoy it. One piece of advice is to make sure you do your research on not just the car but the dealership!

After a long, arduous, and often annoying relationship with various Mazdas, my 2005 Honda Civic EX truly is a wonderfully positive change. Peppy acceleration, agile handling, and a serenely quiet ride make me endlessly happy I chose this car. Even friends in the backseat can ride comfortably and the chrome accents on the dash catch their eyes. This was my first new car and I could not have made a better decision. I look forward to driving this car for years.

  • Honda wins me back - 2007 Honda Civic

After a wonderful ride with a Mazda Protege -- which I thought beat the pants off the old Civic -- I came back to Honda after looking at the latest iteration. The combination of gas mileage and reliability and the design of the new Civic are hard to beat. Despite my great experience with the Protege, I picked this in a close call over a Mazda 3. You couldnt go wrong with either one -- they are clearly the class of this field for styling, fit and finish, economy and value.
