Model Overview:

Since its launch in 1973, the Honda Civic has been one of the most popular compact cars sold in America. Its success can be attributed in large part to its consistently high level of quality inside and out and its long-standing reputation for reliability and low running costs. Impressive fuel economy and engaging performance have also played a role in making the Civic a top choice for many Americans.

The competition has largely caught up with Honda, though, and there are now many excellent small cars vying for your attention. Still, we continue to recommend the Civic due to its ergonomic interior layout, wide range of models and high resale value. For small-car shoppers in search of a solid used vehicle, the Honda Civic is certainly a smart choice, as its long production run and many variants make it easy to find what you want.

  • Definitely a Repeat Buyers Car - 2006 Honda Civic

This is the third Honda Civic Ive owned. With each body style, the cars design and comfort are improved upon. The handling and performance seem to be even better than prior incarnations of this car as well. The mileage is a major selling point as well.

  • Love my Honda - 2005 Honda Civic

I just bought the car this month and I love it! It handles great, is a blast to drive, love the 5 spd. The ride is very smooth. I drive 80 miles round trip to work and still only fill up once a week, but Im realizing I get better gas mileage on higher octane fuel and I only use shell or sunoco. I had a 90 Civic Si which was an awesome car but so far I like my 05 better. It picks up when I need it to with no problem and still has plenty of power when running the a/c. Hondas are awesome cars I highly recomend them.

  • What a Car!!! - 1999 Honda Civic

I purchased this car used, but I plan to buy a new Honda if and when this car gives it up. But it shows no signs of doing anything of the sort. I get 40+ mpg (OK, maybe I am a bit of a hypermiler). It helps that it was well-maintained by the previous owner, and I am also keeping it fine-tuned, well-oiled and clean. It is extremely reliable, stylish, and economical... everything I want in an auto. Interior is a tad small, but I do not really care since the pluses completely outweigh this one concern. The trunk is very roomy. The ride is smooth, the pep is just fine, and it is significantly more quiet than I expected. I give this car a TEN - absolutely!

  • Intially Very Impressed - 2008 Honda Civic

Got tired of paying BMW maintenance and traded in my 01 525i for a white EX-L sedan this past weekend. I am very impressed with the build quality and the handling. The leather interior interior has a high quality feel and should last a long time. The stock stereo has a nice full sound. I did compare it to the Mazda 3 S Grand Touring Sedan and despite what the specs say, the Civic EX-L feels larger inside from a front and rear leg room perspective. I am very happy with my purchase and highly recommend it over the Mazda 3 and the Corolla.

  • my favorite car - 2004 Honda Civic

In 31 years of owning and driving cars, including trucks, a 4wd wagon, and a sporty hatchback, this is most definitely my favorite. I am averaging 45.4 mpg overall in mostly short city driving. The electric motor gives a peppy assist on acceleration, and the frugal 1.3L engine barely sips the gasoline. It is a civic so it is a fun car to scoot around town in, and it is a honda so it is reliable. As sort of a nerd I enjoy the new technology and the instant MPG readouts. And it is satisfying to try to do something to ease our countrys dependence on foreign oil. It is a fabulous car and I look forward to the days ahead when all car models are offered with hybrid technology.

  • Great Bargain - 2003 Honda Civic

We purchased this vehicle new in December 2002 and have taken 2 trips to Las Vegas, Nevada both times averaging about 40 miles to the gallon on regular gasoline. The automatic drive system functioned perfectly on cruise control in the mountains keeping the desired speed constant.

I like this car. It is my 5th Honda. I previously had a prelude. My only issue with the civic is that is doesnt ride as smooth as my prelude. It is a little higher up, so doesnt hug the road as well. All in all I am happy with the car, its very sporty looking.

I love my new Civic because you can chill with it and get great gas mileage or you can give it hell and still get pretty good gas mileage, and it is fun to hit the gas. The interior design is tight esp. With the navi. Overall great car.
