Model Overview:

Since its launch in 1973, the Honda Civic has been one of the most popular compact cars sold in America. Its success can be attributed in large part to its consistently high level of quality inside and out and its long-standing reputation for reliability and low running costs. Impressive fuel economy and engaging performance have also played a role in making the Civic a top choice for many Americans.

The competition has largely caught up with Honda, though, and there are now many excellent small cars vying for your attention. Still, we continue to recommend the Civic due to its ergonomic interior layout, wide range of models and high resale value. For small-car shoppers in search of a solid used vehicle, the Honda Civic is certainly a smart choice, as its long production run and many variants make it easy to find what you want.

  • Best Car Ever - 1998 Honda Civic

All Civics are great vehicles. Ive owned two. Both were totaled, only reason Ive had to buy another car. 98 Civic totaled with me driving - hit on drivers side by head on collision by Chevy Malibu. Had to be pried out by Jaws of Life. Want to buy another Civic - only small bruises on my body!! Miracle Im not hurt worse. Only problem with car, front power window was going out. Will always recommend Hondas. Will never find a better vehicle!

I bought this car for myself as a 16th bday present to myself. I was originally going to buy the LX but my dad helped me out with getting a EX Navigation. I would really recommend it! One the test drive it handled well and was quick off the line. I wish I could have but a 2door tho.

Car is cute - love black leather interior. Not that great on gas...also with only 15000 miles on it, tires are wearing out

Seats are uncomfortable, but other than that, love the vehicle, gets a combined city/hwy MPG of about 32, which isnt bad.

I purchased this car as a run around car and as a car my son can learn to drive in a few years. It surprised me by how nice it is. I get 32 MPG driving the mountains of the Sierra Nevada mountains and 35.5 on longer trips. I like the navigation system and the stereo. For $22,000 this is an amazing car. It corners and steers almost as well as my 2005 Porsche. In fact, had I driven a Civic before I bought my Porsche ( I picked the Porsche up in Germany), I might have saved a lot of money.

Finally sold off the 93 DX MT model for a 2008 EX AT and couldnt be more satisfied. The EX gets 32 City with AC. Highway mileage is also impressive - were getting 38 on the highway! Cant ask for a smoother, more quiet ride. Enjoying the keyless entry, remote trunk, 6 speakers, and theres plenty of room for the 62" passengers. Its a great value for the money. The dealer installed the low profile spoiler and tinted the windows. Now we really look cool! We researched and test drove a couple SUVs as well as the Corolla and Accord. They couldnt compare to the Civics ride and reputation for dependability.

  • Not what I would expect from Honda - 2007 Honda Civic

I bought my Civic Coupe hoping for a car with great fuel economy, reliability, and a good Honda design. The car handles very well, however, I am very disappointed with the quality of the interior cosmetic items. After 2 months the drivers side sun visor broke, then the passenger side visor broke soon after that. Just last month I noticed the drivers side interior pull handle plastic strip was loose. I brought it in to have the panel replaced, went home, and the whole plate came off. I would expect more from Honda. If you have this model, make sure you use your sun visors because I understand many others are having the same problem. The gas mileage for city driving is only 23 mpg.

  • Great Car...but whats with the radio. - 2003 Honda Civic

We bought the EX, top of the line. Its a great car. But you would think they would put in an audio system that you could tune without taking your eyes off the rode. The buttons are so small I am contantly hitting two at a time. And dont even think of trying to play some old tapes, only comes with a CD. Again, with the EX you think Honda would of had a CD/Tape combo.

  • This car is SWEET!!! - 2003 Honda Civic

My 95 Honda Civic DX was totaled. I decided the Honda Civic was still the best bang for my buck. The engine is so smooth, I cant tell its running when Im waiting for my order at Sonic. I have taken it through some paces at speed, and while it isnt a Ferrari, It handled well and I am confident in its abilities. Passing or using the fast lane in Houston is no problem, because the engine has great power in the upper gears (3-5). The seats are reeeaaally comfortable. There isnt much road noise, and the stereo works just fine. All in all, I have overwhelmingly positive comments.
