Model Overview:

Since its launch in 1973, the Honda Civic has been one of the most popular compact cars sold in America. Its success can be attributed in large part to its consistently high level of quality inside and out and its long-standing reputation for reliability and low running costs. Impressive fuel economy and engaging performance have also played a role in making the Civic a top choice for many Americans.

The competition has largely caught up with Honda, though, and there are now many excellent small cars vying for your attention. Still, we continue to recommend the Civic due to its ergonomic interior layout, wide range of models and high resale value. For small-car shoppers in search of a solid used vehicle, the Honda Civic is certainly a smart choice, as its long production run and many variants make it easy to find what you want.

My car is 5 years old. It has 24K miles on it and makes a weird squeaking noise when I drive it slowly. Lately it has not been starting on the first try. I took it to the dealer and they could not determine what the cause was. I am now just waiting for the 2008 Nissans or Camrys to come out. My dealership now wants to charge a $99 diagnostic fee. Whether they find the problem or not. The fact that there seems to be an electrical short that might make me stranded somewhere really bothers me. Im very disappointed in Honda quality and the dealership.

If you want a fun reliable car this isit with no doubt. I love the car and am a huge fan of it. There are a few issues to be aware of before you buy. I have had mine for a couple of months and it doesnt like going into reverse sometimes and the driver window neededto be tightened. The cup holders are great (even the one by the drivers window). There isnt very much storage space and the little place near the drivers shin will hold CDs w/o the cases but not with them and they fall out when you accelerate. There is no armrest but you wont want to take you hand off of the shifter long enough to rest your arm. In a nutshell this car is fantastic to drive and I do not regret buying mine!

The all new Honda Civic coupe is an amazing car to drive for its price range. In doing several comparisons to other cars of the same class, Honda blew away the competition. With 30mpg city and 40mpg highway only a Civic hybrid gets better mileage(civic hybrid gets 50mpg highway). The ride is exceptionally smooth, with double wishbone suspension in the rear and racing struts in the front. The car seems glued to the road during turns, acceleration and braking. The EX civic coupe also give you the sense of driving a luxury car with all the standard features like: Sunroof with tilt capability, adjustable telescopic steering wheel, AUX jacks to plug in your IPOD, XM ready stereo.

I bought my Honda about 4 months ago and have already put 7,000 miles on it. So far the only thing that has gone wrong is a heat shield fell off but thats a simple issue and is apparantly quite common with these cars. Other than that: Pros: Great driving feel, interior is well laid out, exterior design is simple but refined, has a good balance for city driving and highway driving. Cons: Long throws for the shifter, could use a 6th gear, exterior dents easly. Overall: I love my car, its fun to drive and doesnt use much gas.

In the low 30s (cold N.E.) I am getting 45 mpg on my first 4 fill ups!! At 60 mph I get 52+ mpg in relatively flat terrain. I love my 8 gallon fillups after travelling 380 miles. I love the handling, climate control and all the air bags. Go Honda!!!!!

I drive a Civic out of choice, not necessity, I am disappointed that leather was not offered as an option. I had to order it as a custom item. Also, I would like to see automatic turn off of lights in the future. You wouldnt believe how many times Ive run my battery down. Wish Id opted for MP3 compatibility--was it an option? The mileage has not yet reached the advertised levels, but perhaps its not yet fully broken in. During the recent high fuel price crunch, I was not complaining about my 38-41 mpg performance, but to date I have not reached the optimum 47/49 mpg. Overall, I have been very pleased with this car.

We havent achieved the mileage advertised, however, it is satisfactory. 43mpg on a trip is the best weve gotten, and thats good considering your foot is in it on the interstate system. Im a big man, so I could use some more room. Once in position, Im all right. Comfortable ride considering the size. You must drive knowing your capability when merging at high speeds. This isnt a race car. The transmission is very smooth. The radio is from hunger. Its the poorest thing about the car. Using the cruise control gives best economy on the highway. Would get another one without concern, but would barter on the price more seriously. May save $1K, but dont expect to save more.

  • No problems - 2013 Honda Civic

I see all these reviews about the 13 civic with bad gas mileage or locking problems or the steerinv wheel is rubbing ect ect. Ive put 22,000 miles on mine in the last year and I TAKE CARE OF IT. Ive had 0 problems. I change the oil(synthetic) and i drive. Gas mileage is 40 ish highway and 32 ish in town. I drive it hard and have had no problems. 50,000 miles on it now

  • Most modern compact car in the market - 2006 Honda Civic

This is my first Honda and I can really feel the build quality and the handling of the car is superior to others. Fuel economy has been around 28 mpg in city, but excellent on the highway. This was a smooth transition from a manual transmission, because this is also a 5- speed transmission and I like the way shifting works, I was surprised with the downshifting specially. I do have to say I was a bit unlucky and mine had a couple minor factory defects: headlights on reminder not working and driver door needed to be adjusted. Despite this, I have no regrets about buying this car. I strongly recommend it.
