Overview & Reviews
Since its launch in 1973, the Honda Civic has been one of the most popular compact cars sold in America. Its success can be attributed in large part to its consistently high level of quality inside and out and its long-standing reputation for reliability and low running costs. Impressive fuel economy and engaging performance have also played a role in making the Civic a top choice for many Americans.
The competition has largely caught up with Honda, though, and there are now many excellent small cars vying for your attention. Still, we continue to recommend the Civic due to its ergonomic interior layout, wide range of models and high resale value. For small-car shoppers in search of a solid used vehicle, the Honda Civic is certainly a smart choice, as its long production run and many variants make it easy to find what you want.

Honda Civic EX - 2003 Honda Civic
By ace_canadian - September 2 - 10:00 amGreat reliable car that handles the commute very well. Gas milage was a big reason I bought it and it has lived up to my expectations. The 5-speed is fun to drive with short tight shifts.

Honda Civic 2002 - 2002 Honda Civic
By Pipo - August 31 - 10:42 amOverall, its OK. However, after 100k miles, the transmission broke down. Without any warning. I dont know why. Price of parts are too expensive.

2016 Civic Sedan Touring - 2016 Honda Civic
By TJ Hooper - August 31 - 4:46 amThe passenger side camera is a very nice option ! The brake hold is also nice but be advised that it will not work without having your seatbelt on. Acceleration is awesome for a 4 cylinder 4 door car. After 4 tanks of fuel mostly on short trips was avg 35 mpg and one semi long trip of 125 miles on the interstate avg 41.8 mpg. Over all we are very pleased with our purchase. We paid 25k before taxes and tags.

Well rounded sport sedan - 2008 Honda Civic
By blastersix - August 30 - 11:13 pmAfter test driving and getting prices on the new Saturn Astra, VW GTI 5- door, and Mazda3 5-door, this Civic just is a better overall package and has the bullet proof Honda reliability to boot. Ive owned the car for about two weeks now, but put 2,000 miles on it already. My wife and I took it two days after buying it on our vacation from Ohio to North and South Carolina. The performance and specifically the handling on this car are outstanding. Snicky 6-speed manual, point and shoot steering, and good throttle response make the Si a wonderful road car. The four door practicality means our two kids ride along in comfort too. Just watch out for the front buckets on long trips. Ouch.

good enough - 2008 Honda Civic
By jjazzman - August 30 - 12:03 pmIm coming from Z4 with manual tranny. I wish it had lil more power but I wished the same thing when I had Z4 also.. It handles much better than you would expect from Civic. feels as responsive as 3 series I test drove before Civic. I always had issue with Hondas seat. I owned TL- S, Accord, CR-V, and MDX... all of them had lumbar support in wrong position. Even 2008 Civic sedan has weird lumbar support but Civic Coupe seats is only Honda car I dont have any problem with. You gotta sit on one of these, youll understand what I mean. Heated seat heats up little different from other cars Ive owned but it is nice feature. Heated seat dont get as hot as other cars even in high mode

Gas mileage - 2006 Honda Civic
By Phil - August 30 - 3:46 amI traded a Tundra for this civic purely for better gas mileage. Im averaging over 31 MPG. Im pleased with the performance and the overall fit and finish. If youre looking for an interstate cruiser, soft and heavy, this aint it but if you need a commuter that is responsive, gets good gas mileage and sits 4 quite comfortably, you should give it a look.

Economy Meets Sporty - 2003 Honda Civic
By Cory - August 28 - 10:00 amI bought the Civic EX, because I wanted a car that would be freindly to my wallet, but still fun. When you upgrade to the EX you loose some in city gas milage, but I still average 330 a tank, and thats all city driving. The upgrades are what make the EX so cool. A 1.7L V-tech engine Delivers more than enough power, and you also get alloy rims, power everything, moon roof, tilt steering, and premium sound. You feel like you have a sports car instead of an economy car.

Great Teen Car - 2000 Honda Civic
By Mike - August 27 - 1:48 pmBought for my 16 year old son with 123K and now has 125K. Excellent transportation and good gas mileage. It is my 4th Honda we currently have in the family and cant say enough about their products.

2001 Civic EX Sedan - 2001 Honda Civic
By 2001 Civic - August 26 - 9:09 pmPurchased this car as a replacement for my 1993 Civic Coupe. Overall a good used car. Fuel Mileage is great as long as you keep below 3500 RPM. Ive had a few issues such as front wheel bearing, pass side front window regulator, alternator but overall expected since the car has over 130K. Build quality seems lacking compared to my old 1993 Civic. Just more rattles, etc than the old car had.

2016 Honda Civic - 2016 Honda Civic
By RGhound - August 25 - 5:36 pmI have really been impressed with the changes Honda has made to the Civic since I owned my last one which was a 1996 model. I really have been spoiled on the keyless start and remote start feature. The Display Audio works great with my smartphone and gives me on-board navigation using Google Maps. My gas mileage has been terrific so far and I hope as the engine breaks in will increase even more. Im 62" and I can sit comfortably in my Civic though my hair will sometimes hit the headliner if I sit the chair up straight. The seat height is adjustable but I feel like Im sitting on the floor if I let it down too low.
