Model Overview:

Since its launch in 1973, the Honda Civic has been one of the most popular compact cars sold in America. Its success can be attributed in large part to its consistently high level of quality inside and out and its long-standing reputation for reliability and low running costs. Impressive fuel economy and engaging performance have also played a role in making the Civic a top choice for many Americans.

The competition has largely caught up with Honda, though, and there are now many excellent small cars vying for your attention. Still, we continue to recommend the Civic due to its ergonomic interior layout, wide range of models and high resale value. For small-car shoppers in search of a solid used vehicle, the Honda Civic is certainly a smart choice, as its long production run and many variants make it easy to find what you want.

The car is magnificent. Ive averaged 37 mpg over the first 5000 miles of mixed city/highway driving. Very quick and efficient for a 4 cylinder with this much comfort and room. I love the ULEV2 rating too. I get constant compliments on the style. I only wish the tail of the sedan looked like the coupe.

Bought this car for my wife and she loves it. I drove it and I love it. Dash makes you feel like you are in a mid to large car. Gets great gas mileage as long as you dont floor it after every stop (35 mpg city). Have 4000 miles on it and still doesnt need oil change. It has an Oil Life % meter and it tells you when the oil needs changed (mine still has 40% life left). Get lots of looks while driving around and had at least 5 people ask about it while filling up on gas. Not much to add on the EX model except tinted windows and the KARR security system feature. The money I save on gas in this car (compared to last car) pays half my car payment.

Get in this car and drive it like any other car. You only notice its a hybrid when you check out the mpg --- 45! As fun to drive as much more expensive cars.

  • My first small car and I love it! - 2004 Honda Civic

I am a grad student who drives about 5- 600 miles per week. My 1997 Bravada blew the engine and I needed a car fast. I have had this one a week and it handles Michigan ice and rain like a big car, yet sometimes my mileage is 46 mpg. With escalating gas prices, I just wonder why I didnt do this sooner.

Wow! a blast to drive. Wonderful fuel economy but still able to reach thoughs mid 100 mph. The only real complaint that I have is that the seats are unconfortable. It is zippy but on thoughs long trips from college to home I start hurting.

  • CAN I HAVE MY MONEY BACK - 2002 Honda Civic
    By -

FIT AND FINISH IS TOP NOTCH, BUT QUALITY OF MATERIALS AND CONSTRUCTION IS POOR. MANY THINGS HAVE FAILED ON THE VEHICLE WITHIN THE FIRST 24K. DEALERS WOULD NOT REPAIR AND IT TOOK A LAWSUIT TO GET HONDA TO FIX A ROCKING SEAT THAT HAD BEEN REPAIRED 3 TIMES PRIOR, A DEFECTIVE STEERING RACK AND FRONT STRUTS. ADDITIONALLY, THE CLOTH CAME OFF ALL 4 DOOR PANELS, THE TRUNK LOCK BROKE, THE AC DOES NOT WORK WELL, THE COMPUTER NEEDED REPROGRAMMING DUE TO EPA FAILURE, THE RADIO CHANGES STATIONS WHEN YOU OPEN THE SUN ROOF, THE CARPET CAME OUT OF THE FLOOR MATS AND THE LIST GOES ON.

This car has always been there for me when I needed it the most. It was always running never broke down, very very few problems and I loved hearing that v-tec scream!

  • Love It!! - 2006 Honda Civic

I LOVE THIS CAR! I had a VW Jetta, it got totaled so I took my insurance money and bought this car. Worth every penny! I think the front of this car is a little weird looking but looking at it from the side and back I think it is a real good looking car. The navigation system is on point and really easy to use, coming from someone who is very electronic illiterate. For a 21 year old girl the sound system is amazing, this whole car is wonderful

  • What hasnt been said about this car? - 1998 Honda Civic
    By -

Bought this car used as a second car. Have owned Hondas in the past and after test driving this little Civic, I realized that I should still be owning Hondas! It could very well be the only car I would say would last 150K+ miles and still look good! Gas milage is great, the 5spd is peppy. Even the factory stereo with the add-on CD player is nice. What more could you get for under 10k used?

  • GOOD NOT GREAT - 1998 Honda Civic
    By -

The car is a very good car, not a great one as some would have you to believe. It does most everything well. I never get more than 30mpg with the auto. You must push it to keep up with more powerful vehicles. It has had two safety recalls. I have had problems with the thermostat (cracked the radiator), failed oxygen sensor, recurring problems with the passenger side power window armature. It takes a few turns to start and the ignition sometimes sticks. The car is a blast and will out handle many higher priced vehicles, especially on highway on/off ramps.
