Model Overview:

Since its launch in 1973, the Honda Civic has been one of the most popular compact cars sold in America. Its success can be attributed in large part to its consistently high level of quality inside and out and its long-standing reputation for reliability and low running costs. Impressive fuel economy and engaging performance have also played a role in making the Civic a top choice for many Americans.

The competition has largely caught up with Honda, though, and there are now many excellent small cars vying for your attention. Still, we continue to recommend the Civic due to its ergonomic interior layout, wide range of models and high resale value. For small-car shoppers in search of a solid used vehicle, the Honda Civic is certainly a smart choice, as its long production run and many variants make it easy to find what you want.

  • What Will Honda Think of Next? - 2006 Honda Civic

Ive been researching this car and its reviews for quite some time (since early January). Boy was the wait well- worth it! This car is the best, by far, in the compact car class. I thoroughly enjoy driving it. In fact, I am on my way to grocer to pick it some milk. And when I come back, I am sure Ill need to run out for something else... you see, you have to drive this car to relate to what Im saying.

Great car. Bought with 65000 miles on it, now have 190000 and it is still going strong. Drive 100 miles a day and it has been totally reliable. I have not done a timing belt since I got it. Great MPG, 34 up to 40 on occassions. My first Honda after many Toyotas. They make a terrific car for commuters like me.

  • Answer to High Gas Prices - 2005 Honda Civic

We have only had our Honda Civic Hybrid for one month but the car is shear joy to own and operate. My 15 year old son is learing to dive and has only a permit. The Honda is a great tool for a new driver. The MPG graph shows exactly what your mileage is while you are driving. My son and I have a contest to see who can get the better MPG. Our best so far has been 50.2 MPG between fill ups and our overall average is 46 MPG. My son has learned very quickly that jack rabbit starts and stops eat up gas even on a hybrid. We have an 04 Miata and an 03 Explorer but we use the Honda 90% of the time. When we fill up at the gas puimp we seem to be the only ones who are smiling. Its the answer.

  • This is my civic 2003 - 2003 Honda Civic

I bought this car in November 2006 having 14000 miles, now after 15 months I have almost 28000 miles. Since I have the car Im obsessed by the road noise. I put a blanket in the trunk and I changed the Dunlop sp20 fe tires with Michelin x-radial dt, big improvement, tires are not so noisy anymore and dont squeal on turns. Still if I ran more than 65 mph (sometimes less) I can hear the wind, if it rained I have the sensation that I have the doors open and I hear all the noise, when the water is splashing under the car its unbelievable how clear you can hear it. The doors starts to shake when listening music with heavy bass. The car starts to shake when the AC is on. Noisy engine.

  • New Car & Surprises Not Always Good - 2005 Honda Civic
    By -

Purchased this new car w/75 miles on it from dealer. Nice looking exterior, well appointed & roomy interior. Great car for city & all flatland driving. However, it does lack necessary torque/power/responsiveness to effectively & safely climb hills, pass, & freeway merge when necessary without having at least 3/4ths of a mile or more clear of traffic to get up to speed (0 to 60mph in not seconds, but 3 to 5 minutes! Amazingly poor & unsafe performance!

Just the right size. Roomy without being bulky. moved up from an old sports car and dont feel overwhelmed. Good performance, but doesnt have quite the power Im used to, which is probably a safe thing.

  • 5000 miles in, this is great! - 2003 Honda Civic
    By -

This is a great car. Expensive, but its worth it. It looks as if it has something meaty under the bonnet. People ask me how big its engine is, and get confused when I say 1.3 litres! Then you mention the 10kW electric motor, and they get even more confused - amazed is better.

  • excellent fun and great gas milage - 2004 Honda Civic
    By -

I dive about 3000 miles a month due to my 4 year old sons illness and we bought the civic because the gas milage on my 03 jeep is only 17 miles to the gallon and our civic geats 40 miles to the gallon (wow) this is a great car for a limited income family or someone who just wants a fun car and a great starter car and has lots of safty features.

When i brought it, it was pure bliss, the quiet engine and roomy interior was perfect for my driving standards and the exterior is as slick as a sports coupe, alll in all it is a great buy.
