Model Overview:

Since its launch in 1973, the Honda Civic has been one of the most popular compact cars sold in America. Its success can be attributed in large part to its consistently high level of quality inside and out and its long-standing reputation for reliability and low running costs. Impressive fuel economy and engaging performance have also played a role in making the Civic a top choice for many Americans.

The competition has largely caught up with Honda, though, and there are now many excellent small cars vying for your attention. Still, we continue to recommend the Civic due to its ergonomic interior layout, wide range of models and high resale value. For small-car shoppers in search of a solid used vehicle, the Honda Civic is certainly a smart choice, as its long production run and many variants make it easy to find what you want.

I wanted something Sporty and the Honda 2 door 5 speed was nice ,but I had to think about my kids having to crawl in and out of the back seat. I settled for the Honda DX, I get good gas mileage, the stereo CD player sounds great and the cab is big enough for my family of 5. The only con I can think of is that there is a bit of road noise when the radio is not turned on. Another plus is the high resale value, compared to the other cars in its class. If you but from the Tim Smith store on highway 98 in Ft Walton Beach ask for Alex...he is a great salesman and will treat you right.

I love my new Honda Civic! After test driving many other cars, Im happy that when I finally made up my mind to buy, the new version of the Civic was available. I never would have considered any of the older versions. This new version is stylish (Ive even been told that it looks futuristic) and classy. The ride is smooth and the interior is roomy for a small car. My husband is 66" and he has more than enough room! I am very pleased with my new car and highly recommend it to anyone in the market for a small, economical, but stylish car.

Test drove car on a whim last week and purchased one on Friday! What a hoot. Much more fun to drive than my 2000 Corvette w/ 6 speed. I let several friends (who own sports cars) drive the car this weekend and they were very impressed with the the total package. Their guess on price....25 to 27K. Handling limits are way beyond my capability. The car handles like its on a rope with summer tires being very sticky. Car is comfortable while cruising, handles bumps really well and will easily exceed any speed limit without being noticed by the driver.

  • Reliable.. what? - 2001 Honda Civic

I have a lot of friends that have older Civics and just love them to death. So, I thought I would be safe by purchasing a newer model. Man, was I wrong. I have never seen a car that had as many problems.. Honda does have problems, maybe not as much as you hear about Fords, but atleast Ford tells everyone something is wrong and tries/Attempts to fix it! I only need to have the civic in the shop 2 more times and it will be lemon lawed, I cant wait to get rid of it. I think Ill stick with an older Honda, or better yet, get a Ford or GM. I might be living life on the edge with it, but atleast I can get Ford or GM to admit to problems and fix them.

The only two bad things about the civic are the back seat comfort and the wind noise. The back seat has plenty of room, but having to carpool 50 miles a day, I get plenty of comments about there not being enough support back there.

A-OK! Once again Honda Motor brings us the best buy on the road! Civic has been a historical model since its induction over 30 years ago! Kudos to Honda Motor Co.

I bought the car new, it had 24 miles on it. Now it has 75,000 miles. I have made changes to the car. All with the intent for better gas mileage. Stock I was getting 33 mpg on the interstate at 75 mph. After dual exhaust, K&N air intake, summer tires, and its not manual (automatic trans.) I now get 51 mpg on the interstate at 75-79 mph. Seriously basically stock 1.7L with an automatic stock trans. and 89 octane pump gas, I get 50 mpg. The city drive takes a toll on the gas mileage, due to the trans., I still get anywhere from 38 to 43mpg in the city. It is definitely not a racer, but it is what I paid for. I would like to have a little more power, but saving the gas money is great.

This is a great car. It rides smooth and I havent had any large repair bills to date. Ive had this car 4 years and all Ive had to replace is the tires and regular oil changes. Im very happy with the gas mileage. I have had many compliments on this car from friends to mechanics. This is a great road trip car. Ive taken it to a bunch of different States and even out of the Country.

  • The perfect automobile - 2000 Honda Civic

Mine too has a clunk in the transmission when slowing down and then pressing the accelerator quickly. Thats about the only thing I can complain about. Everything else works perfectly with no problems. I recommend Honda products to all. I changed from a Lincoln Town Car to a Civic because of fuel economy not because I didnt like my Lincoln but I love my Honda even more.
