Model Overview:

Since its launch in 1973, the Honda Civic has been one of the most popular compact cars sold in America. Its success can be attributed in large part to its consistently high level of quality inside and out and its long-standing reputation for reliability and low running costs. Impressive fuel economy and engaging performance have also played a role in making the Civic a top choice for many Americans.

The competition has largely caught up with Honda, though, and there are now many excellent small cars vying for your attention. Still, we continue to recommend the Civic due to its ergonomic interior layout, wide range of models and high resale value. For small-car shoppers in search of a solid used vehicle, the Honda Civic is certainly a smart choice, as its long production run and many variants make it easy to find what you want.

I just got my 04 Civic Cp, and I love it. We got the first 04 in our area. The salesman wasnt pushy at all. My Civic has exellent build quality and great looks. And I love the engine. No problems so far but that can be expected form a Honda. The Civic is a true best buy.

Car has nice behaviour in hard breaking but i find it noisy at Hway speeds. I felt confortable but did not felt much feedback from road when cornering.

  • Best Car Ever! - 2001 Honda Civic

I bought my car used about five years ago with 42,000 mi. I now have 172,000 miles and it is still going strong. I have delivered pizzas in it for almost five years, and have driven it to 40 states, some more than once. I did have some major transmission problems at about 140,000 miles and had to pay $1750 to fix (I hear this is a common problem with this model year). Besides this though, I have NEVER had to fix ANYTHING apart from normal maintenance (tires, brakes, battery, spark plugs). And I mean NOTHING. It has never left me stranded- even when the tranny went out it made it to the mechanic. This car also gets GREAT gas mileage- between 35-40 mpg. You cant do much better than this car!

  • 2004 CIVIC HYBRID - 2005 Honda Civic

Ive thoroughly enjoyed my Hybrid. Going from a minivan to a subcompact, I thought the transition would be difficult, but the trade off has been worth it. The paint seems to be extremely delicate, nicking if you even look at it! I am not getting the mileage I was led to believe Id be getting; however, as I do a LOT of highway driving, Im getting anywhere from 40-44 mpg, which compared to my minivan is excellent. I fill up twice a month whether I need to or not. Overall, Im very glad I went Hybrid. Even if Im not getting the mileage I think I should be getting (50+), I have on occasion hit 50 (rarely) but I still feel as if Im doing something positive for the environment! Win-Win

  • Slick Compact - 2006 Honda Civic

This car is loaded with attenton to detail and lots of amazingly slick little refinements. The split instrumentation is a treat and makes you wonder why nobody thought of this trick before.

You get what you pay for. This is a car that is great for someone without kids. Back seating a very tight and the rear view is difficult. It has FABULOUSA gas mileage and steering. It is road noisy.

I have had my 06 Civic Sedan for about 2 months now. Have had no problems whatsoever and the fuel economy has been great (Avg 32 mpg city). Have not had achance to take a long trip as of yet but. Avg miles on a tank is around 350 or so. Also love that people at work seem to think I spent more then I did (shhh). GREAT Car for a GREAT price. Dont miss out.

  • Very good investment. - 2004 Honda Civic

Ive had the vehicle for a little over a year. Out of most of my friends, Im the only one with a fuel efficient vehicle and I see how much more money they spend of gas, I can usually fill up for about thirty dollars when it takes them sixty to seventy dollars to fill up. Anyway, its a great car. I think the interior is designed quite well and is also comfortable. Like I said, its a very good investment, especially if youre looking for a more fuel efficient car.

  • T otally Disappointed - 1999 Honda Civic

I purchased this car without hesitation because of my experience with my previous 88 Civic which was the perfect car...great gas mileage and NEVER gave me even the slightest problem. This one has been troublesome from the get go. Everything about it just seemed cheap and flimsy. But my major problems were mechanical. I kept having to take it to the shop because of the oxygen sensor which for some reason the dealership couldnt get corrected. Then my transmission had to be replaced as soon as the warranty run out. The current transmission is not doing too well either. It feels as if its out of line, but I have had it aligned twice and nothing helps. This car has soured me on Honda.

This car is very comfortable to drive, and handles very nicely. It has plenty of power and has caused me to modify my driving habits, particularily how fast I start from a stop.
