Overview & Reviews
Since its launch in 1973, the Honda Civic has been one of the most popular compact cars sold in America. Its success can be attributed in large part to its consistently high level of quality inside and out and its long-standing reputation for reliability and low running costs. Impressive fuel economy and engaging performance have also played a role in making the Civic a top choice for many Americans.
The competition has largely caught up with Honda, though, and there are now many excellent small cars vying for your attention. Still, we continue to recommend the Civic due to its ergonomic interior layout, wide range of models and high resale value. For small-car shoppers in search of a solid used vehicle, the Honda Civic is certainly a smart choice, as its long production run and many variants make it easy to find what you want.

great car, helpful hints to driving it - 2004 Honda Civic
By Matt Winger - June 11 - 10:00 amGreat car. Best way to get the most mileage is to coast when you can, and on long stretches to get yourself to your speed and then give enough gas to maintain the speed. At one I was getting 50 miles per gallon doing this. It also helps with recharging the battery. Coasting down hills or approaching red lights that might go green soon helps with gas mileage and the battery.

Honda Civic HX - NOT the hybrid - 2005 Honda Civic
By S. Johnson - June 10 - 7:36 pmGreat Car. However, Whenever I say "HX most people (including dealers) think Im talking about the Hybrid version of the Civic. They dont realize its a Civic coupe with a 1.7 gas engine ans CVT (or 5 speed) transmission. Its screwed togther very well. Nice interior, good gauges, could use an arm rest and should come from factory with A/C. I dont mind the manual rollup windows but some might. There should be an upgrade to the sound system. The CVT takes some getting used to but is very smooth and seamless as it chifts to higher ratios on the freeway. The cruise is excellant All-in-all this is a quality built, rattle free, great mileage car that is fun and comfortable to drive.

I Think Im a Honda Person Now - 2006 Honda Civic
By mwallace - June 8 - 3:33 amIt took about two months to take delivery of my new car and Ive had it for a little less than a month. I have about 1000 miles and have gotten better gas mileage with each fill-up (about 35mpg). I love how tight and responsive the car is. It does vibrate a little bit, but not unreasonably. The acceleration is better that the 2003 Mazda6 I traded it in for and I LOVE the design, inside and out. It is also very comfortable. My mother and I bought the exact car (-color), she got hers 1st, then I got mine 3 months later. I thought I wanted a bigger car, possibly a SUV, but I am so happy with my decision. My expenses went down on all counts except insurance which went up about $15 per month.

Great Buy - 1999 Honda Civic
By 1st car - June 7 - 9:09 pmIve had this car since my senior year in High School. Nine years and one son later I still enjoy my silver civic. Paint is still holding up and still looks beautiful under the the California sun. True it has a bit of sentimental value but it also has monetary value. Ive kept up the maintenance with no problems at all great. The cabin does gets a bit noisy during freeway but not a huge issue. You learn to be frugal as a teenage father and college student so this purchase made life a bit easier. When you want reliability turn to good ol Honda.

Civic Coupe Review - 2004 Honda Civic
By DJ - June 7 - 7:43 pmIm fairly happy with the car. However, the power to gas milage ratio is disappointing... Avg. 25 mpg at freeway speeds with A/C on (rated at 38 mpg).
