Model Overview:

Since its launch in 1973, the Honda Civic has been one of the most popular compact cars sold in America. Its success can be attributed in large part to its consistently high level of quality inside and out and its long-standing reputation for reliability and low running costs. Impressive fuel economy and engaging performance have also played a role in making the Civic a top choice for many Americans.

The competition has largely caught up with Honda, though, and there are now many excellent small cars vying for your attention. Still, we continue to recommend the Civic due to its ergonomic interior layout, wide range of models and high resale value. For small-car shoppers in search of a solid used vehicle, the Honda Civic is certainly a smart choice, as its long production run and many variants make it easy to find what you want.

  • Keeps going, and going, and going... - 1990 Honda Civic

Bought a 1990 Civic to save gas. this car has 170,000 miles on it and still runs great! Im very pleased with the durability. It has survived many years of northern Minnesota weather but continues to run like a new car.

I ordered the Honda with Sensing- all the safety features. Ive never owned a Honda car. I like the safety package, but cruise makes you stay back too far. Road noise is worse than my truck. Mileage isnt even close to Honda claims. I have turbo, and the claim is 42 mpg; I get 36.5 at 78 mph.

great commuter car. great gas mileage comparing to my ml. good power giving the sides of the engine. 80-85 mph no problem. need better lumber support for long distance driving. dash color dont match overall interior color. auto engine shut off when come to a smooth complete stop. engine will auto restart when the foot is off the brake pedal.

  • Excellent Auto - 2000 Honda Civic

Have owned this Car since March 2000. In my 8 years of ownership I have replaced the oxygen Sensor at 32,000 miles a battery at 33,000 miles and thats it. It runs beautiful and averages 35 City & 39 Highway MPGs. I had changed the Spark Plugs at 20,000 miles to Iridium Plugs, they improved mileage. I keep the car garaged and the finish is perfect and car runs perfect now at 35,500 original miles. I had taken several trips from Florida to Ohio and had registered as high as 41 MPG on several trips. If you need a reliable car and can find one of these with low miles, grab it. They run great and handle perfect on the road.

  • Finally - 2009 Honda Civic

I have been looking and test driving Civics for the last 2 years and finally decided on a Crystal Black Pearl Coupe, it was on the showroom floor. I almost went with the LX-S, but decided that for an extra $1,300 I would rather have the sunroof, UBS connection with a great stereo, 4 wheel disc breaks. The car is very fun to drive and rides a lot better than the coupe a test drove. Will see how good the mileage is.

  • Still doing it all well - 1999 Honda Civic

First off, the car has had only two problems in my 8 years of ownership. I had to replace the clutch slave cylinder (very cheap and quick fix - right in front of the engine) and the drivers side window likes to jump the track if you wind it up when wet (Easy fix, but use the bullet-proof and freezing cold A/C). Other than those things, I get about 33 MPG with my foot to the floor when I get the opportunity (Mixed driving) and there is a lot of cargo room with rear seats folded. If you get the opportunity to get a good example of this hatchback, you will not be sorry!

  • Make That V-Tec Noise - 2006 Honda Civic

As we pass the threshold of middle age, we decided that life is short to drive a boring car. Enter a S2000, extreme fun, not practical. So our test drives, (What didnt we test drive!) reviews, (thanks Edmunds) lead us to two choices, a GTI and the Si. We bought both(his and hers). I got the Si. Comfortable, extreme handling, braking, snick snick shifting, confidence inspiring, what a blast. Drive it like a Civic, than hit that Vtec, it becomes the S2000.(well almost) Ride comfort who cares.Do 20 MPH or 90 MPH the car feels and responds sensationally. Plenty of room for this 6 footer plus a trunk and fold down seats make this a everyday joy. Outward vision excellent. Note: Buy a radar detector

  • Im sticking with Honda - 2000 Honda Civic

I love this car! It goes in the snow quite well and gets great mileage. Ive had this car for seven years. Problems have problems with the trim (inside/outside) heat shield keeps falling off-power windows seem to be questionable and manifold was found to have a crack in it within one week of the 80,000/8 year and was fixed for free by Superior Honda of Uniontown. The service from the dealership has been excellent. The A/C seems a little sluggish to me but all in all I expect to have this car for at least another 8 years so long as the snow and salt dont do it in first.

  • Replacing my Acura - 2006 Honda Civic
    By -

Knowing that I couldnt afford a new Acura, I decided that a Honda was the next best thing and I wasnt disappointed. The car is cute, comfortable, safe, and reliable. The gas mileage is fantastic - I have never gotten under 32 mpg and I have gotten up to 39. Turning radius is good and the brakes are very tight, just the way I like it. The clutch is solid, allows for a broad range of shifting times, and is fast and easy to use. Cant wait for my first road trip with it!
