In typical Honda fashion, the Civic receives a number of minor changes this year in order to keep it fresh. For the coupe and sedan, there's new exterior styling, including restyling for the front and rear bumpers, hood, headlights and grille. Inside, the audio speakers have been upgraded, extra sound deadening material has been added and floor mats are now standard in the LX and EX. The LX trim has slightly bigger wheels this year (15 inches) and standard keyless entry. A new value package contains air conditioning, a CD player and a new center console. For the Si hatchback, there are new headlight and taillight designs, larger 16-inch wheels and flashier interior trim. Like the regular sedan, the Civic Hybrid has updated styling, standard floor mats and improved speakers. It also has a new interior console with an armrest, adjustable rear headrests and a manual driver-seat height adjuster. Finally, all 2004 Honda Civic sedans and coupes have a new seatbelt reminder system.

Good little car - 2004 Honda Civic
By Gus in NC - February 28 - 11:24 amI bought this car used just for driving back and forth to work. The ride is so good, however, that my wife and I have also driven it on several trips. The ride on the highway is really good, and the mileage is excellent, 40 to 41 mpg cruising at 70 mph, with plenty of power left over. It also has lots of luggage space in back. Driving back and forth to work, I get 35 to 38 mpg. While this is not a race car(it wasnt designed to be one), it has plenty of power for everyday driving, and can keep up with everybody else, including on the interstate. It also is a nice quiet ride at any speed, and is sure footed, both on dry roads or snow.

I got a little tired of all the money I was putting out in gas and on a whim I purchased my current 2004 Civic Coupe EX and began my journey. This is an excellent car! I was really scared when I was faced with driving it in the snow after being in a CR-V for 11 years...but the car is amazing. She plows through anything and climbs hills that have left other cars in the ditch. Ive owned this car for just shy of 2 years now and I love it more and more each day. I get an average of 36-38 mpg--no matter the driving conditions. I cant praise this car enough. Get yourself one and begin your own inexpensively reliable journey!

By flamike772 - November 11 - 10:00 amThis is a great car, peppy for only 127 Horsepower great styling and excellent interior, I brought this car a couple weeks ago after buying a 2001 4 Door EX and never having a major problem with it for four years. I had a SUV and the price of gas was killing me. I got 34MPG with this cars first tank of gas! This car is fun to drive and looks great, wish I got the door edge guards because of how wide the doors open, but you can fin them aftermarket pretty cheap.

By smarques - November 5 - 10:00 amAfter shopping for a Prius for better than a month, stopped into the Honda dealer, drove it home that day for about $5K less, and havent regretted it for a minute. Actual MPG doesnt match EPA estimate, but that shouldnt shock anyone. Still getting 35 mpg in high Florida summer primarily making "ant trips" of 2-5 miles. Over the winter, consistently broke 40mpg. Efficiency meter, though not entirely accurate, helped me modify my driving habits to maximize mileage. I cant wait to trade in my pickup for a true hybrid there too!

Happiest car purchase ever!!! - 2004 Honda Civic

I barely got myself out of the dealer without taking it home. I wasnt in need of the car for another two months. So the research began, how well recieved was this impresive little car. Well the day finaly came Im not easy to make happy and every time I get the chance I want to drive it. I cant imagine what else I could want from it

Very Reliable and Fun to Drive! - 2004 Honda Civic
By RR1RR - September 13 - 10:53 pmI bought this car new in 2004, and it is probably the best car I have owned to date. It has been very reliable, as I have only done the usual routine maintenance (wipers, tires, oil changes, etc). I got the VP package with manual locks and crank windows (less to go wrong- not that it probably would). The 5 speed trans. makes it fun to drive. Power seems on par or better than other 4 cyl. economy-minded models. Buying price was maybe a tad higher than some competing models, but the lack of repair costs and the great fuel economy have long since justified the price! MPG of 35-42 is about the usual for me. I do tilt the seat back a bit, as Im 65" and 250 lbs. Great car though!
