Model Overview:

Since its launch in 1973, the Honda Civic has been one of the most popular compact cars sold in America. Its success can be attributed in large part to its consistently high level of quality inside and out and its long-standing reputation for reliability and low running costs. Impressive fuel economy and engaging performance have also played a role in making the Civic a top choice for many Americans.

The competition has largely caught up with Honda, though, and there are now many excellent small cars vying for your attention. Still, we continue to recommend the Civic due to its ergonomic interior layout, wide range of models and high resale value. For small-car shoppers in search of a solid used vehicle, the Honda Civic is certainly a smart choice, as its long production run and many variants make it easy to find what you want.

  • GREAT CAR FOR A GREAT PRICE!!! - 2002 Honda Civic
    By -

I bought this car in June of 2003 as a graduation present for myself and have been pleased with it ever since. This Honda is GREAT with fuel - I only have to run to the gas station once every week and a half, which is GREAT with my commute to and from work. I am very impressed with this car- I love it!!!

  • So far only one issue with my 08 civic - 2008 Honda Civic
    By -

I love my civic. I have used my heated leather seats many times and they sure do take the chill off on a cold morning. I have been getting 32- 37 MPG with most of my driving being highway. The stereo is awesome and the MP3 hookup is very handy.

  • Well put together and easy to live with. - 2007 Honda Civic
    By -

Had this car two years and it has been easy and cheap to live with. The only downside to this car is the braking performance, which you will notice the first time you drive it. Also, dont expect typical handling and performance, this model is tuned for economy. Still, I love the build quality and the design is great too.

  • My New Civic, Although I Miss My Old One - 2005 Honda Civic
    By -

I just purchased a used 2005 Civic EX M/T Special Edition and OMG. It is SAH- WEEEET. I traded in a 98 civic for this one and immediately i like the design from the 6-disc cd changer to the red illumination on the panel. the alloy wheels and the spoiler definately make the exterior look very sporty. all in all I miss my old civic but i REALLY love my new one. 5 Speed all the way baby. Civics are the reason I started driving manual and Ill never go back!

  • Eh... - 1999 Honda Civic
    By -

This was my first car so I babied it. While I have had it over 4 years ive had to replace the AC and the radiator. The car has 146,000 miles on it, and has NO way of going another 100k. My automatic transmission shifts very hard and sometimes doesnt shift, the cars RPM just keep rising until I decelerate. This is HORRIBLE getting onto the interstate or trying to pass a car. The car is not fun to drive. Its noisy and a bumpy ride. My gas mileage is about 27 mixed which is good. I have to put $45 in it every week. The car is also black which has faded in the Florida sun. The paint almost looks none finished.

  • 2003 Honda Civic LX 4dr 5spd - 2003 Honda Civic

Got this car 5 months ago and basically love it. Ive had no problems with it thus far, and have adjusted my driving habits to pull in an average of 43 mpg (40 city, 47 hwy). Recommended car for anyone.

  • Great - 2000 Honda Civic

The car is very nice overall. It could use some more power sometimes when trying to accelerate. Still in good shape.

  • Laugh at the Gas Stations - 2004 Honda Civic
    By -

As we pass the gas stations we laugh. Our Honda Hybrid gets 45 MPG and rides like a dream. It is fun to drive also. We really get a kick out of listening to the engine stop at stop lights. If you have a hybrid you know what I mean. Tee Hee

  • Solid Economy - 2004 Honda Civic
    By -

Although my Civic Hybrid does not get quite to mileage advertised, it consistently gives me mileage in the 40s and in the high 40s in highway driving. It is solid and has an excellent safety rating--which is one reason I chose it over the Toyota Prius. Its design is not pretentious, which I prefer.

  • Honda still #1 - 6 Hondas later! - 2004 Honda Civic
    By -

This is my 6th Honda! My first was an 86 Civic. Ive had Civics and Accords both. My family has had about 15 of them all together. You just can beat them for quality, value for the dollar, resale value, durability. Id recommend them to anyone and everyone.
