Model Overview:

Since its launch in 1973, the Honda Civic has been one of the most popular compact cars sold in America. Its success can be attributed in large part to its consistently high level of quality inside and out and its long-standing reputation for reliability and low running costs. Impressive fuel economy and engaging performance have also played a role in making the Civic a top choice for many Americans.

The competition has largely caught up with Honda, though, and there are now many excellent small cars vying for your attention. Still, we continue to recommend the Civic due to its ergonomic interior layout, wide range of models and high resale value. For small-car shoppers in search of a solid used vehicle, the Honda Civic is certainly a smart choice, as its long production run and many variants make it easy to find what you want.

I love my new Civic and the Navigation system is really awesome, it actually has more feautes than the Navigation on my 2006 Honda Odyssey. Only one minor complaint. While driving you cant see the front of the car at all and Im 61". Makes it tough parking when I pull into my garage.

  • LCD DISPLAY ISSUES CONSTANT AND BRAKE RECALL - 2016 Honda Civic
    By -

Loved it when I first got it, brand new 2016 model, loaded but just turned 5,000 miles and have had parking brake issues, dangerous ones with recall out for it. Then today LCD display screen started flickering non-stop cannot use it AT all. Have to go in and have fixed, check Internet many people with these same ongoing issues. Car to low to ground as well, Bluetooth works only randomly, and media as well as navigator only work randomly too. SO disappointing! Choose another vehicle, this is my first Honda was so excited as the ratings were so good, but definitely has issues!

  • Love My Car! - 2006 Honda Civic

Ive owned my car about 5 months and have over 10,000 miles on it. Before buying I narrowed down my search to the Toyota Corolla and Honda Civic. After driving the Honda with its cool new look (inside and out) the Corolla was completely ruled out. The remaining three requirements were good gas mileage, moonroof, and heated seats (live in Wisconsin). Found out I was able to add aftermarket heated seats, so all my requirements were met. I keep a gas log and chart every tank of gas. My driving is about 50/50 mix and my average mileage is about 32 miles to the gallon. My lowest tank was 29.5 (winter time) to a high of 37.5 I usually drive with moonroof open and heat or air on for comfort.

I am so in live with my Honda. It is such a smooth drive, and it handles really well. I love the displays and the gas mileage. I love how the driver controls the locks and windows. I highly recommend it to anyone seeking for a reasonably priced, reliable, safe and fun car

  • The Best Buy - A Great Car - 2006 Honda Civic

I purchased our vehicle for my 16-year old daughter, a birthday surprise. I researched and shopped around for the safest vehicle I could put her in and still afford and that a 16-year old girl would be proud of, and we couldnt have done better. She absolutely loved her car. It was cool. More importantly to me, the gas mileage was super. She unfortunately was in a huge wreck. The car did exactly as it was supposed to, held up completely under pressure, frame never gave way, airbags deployed. The police and wreckers were amazed, and I was thankful. It is the only car I will put her back in.

this car is amazing. i bought it with about 100K miles on it, and have put 60K miles in just 2 years or so. The MPG is insane even though its rated at 39 MPG, i routinely obtain 42-45 MPG. The car is so reliable its amazing. I put 80 mi per day on it, and it hasnt broken down once. Just basic repairs like brakes. I would recommend this car to anyone. Only downside is it doesnt have a lot of pep/pick-up, especially on hills--but hey if you want 45 MPG from a car built 15 years ago, you have to accept the downside.

  • Bad in Wisconsin Snow!! - 2006 Honda Civic
    By -

I bought my Civic because I had always heard they were great cars. This car drives great unless there is snow. It is not good in the snow at all. It constantly fishtails and I do not feel safe at all. I think this would be a great car if I lived in FL but would not recommend for the northern states that get a lot of snow!!

I bought this from a friend with 80,000 miles on it in 2004, before gas prices went up. Since then, all Ive done is do the recommended timing belt/water pump change @ 110,000 mi (they looked brand new. Otherwise, I just drive it (about 20,000 miles per year. In the summer, with the air off, I can get up to 42 mpg. With the air on, I get 36 mpg! I carry two kayaks on top and get 34 mpg! I change the oil every 3,000 miles, thats it. Not the most comfortable car for a long drive, but at 40mpg, I can out up with it. The only problem Ive had is with the driver side window falling off the track, which I can fix in about 15 minutes. I love the DX, as has no power anything to break!
