Overview & Reviews
Since its launch in 1973, the Honda Civic has been one of the most popular compact cars sold in America. Its success can be attributed in large part to its consistently high level of quality inside and out and its long-standing reputation for reliability and low running costs. Impressive fuel economy and engaging performance have also played a role in making the Civic a top choice for many Americans.
The competition has largely caught up with Honda, though, and there are now many excellent small cars vying for your attention. Still, we continue to recommend the Civic due to its ergonomic interior layout, wide range of models and high resale value. For small-car shoppers in search of a solid used vehicle, the Honda Civic is certainly a smart choice, as its long production run and many variants make it easy to find what you want.

i love my honda - 1994 Honda Civic
By gigi48 - September 26 - 8:04 pmMy 94 Honda Civic has taken me across the country and back without fail. This is a great car that has been extremely reliable. I have owned the car since 98 and have had no major mechanical problems. At 130k, I had to replace the ignition switch. The part was $40 and it was easy enough that I did the work myself. Great car!

The best commuter car gets better. - 2006 Honda Civic
By Mattyjrich - September 25 - 12:40 pmI traded an 03 Civic LX for an 06. Honda addressed the all the areas where the older Civic needed updating. Power, the new motor is amazing; better mileage (I got 42 MPG on the first tank), smoother and more power! The manual says 10,000 miles between oil changes, save money on gas and oil! Style, updated inside and out; the aerodynamic design of the body is complemented perfectly with the futuristic/functional design inside. Safety, stanard anti lock brakes and side impact air bags. The steering wheel with the tilt and telescoping adjustments and drivers seat hieght adjustments make it easy to find the perfect driving position and adjust your position when needed.

2006 Civic - 2006 Honda Civic
By Bill Sewell - September 25 - 12:16 amI have enjoyed my 2006 honda civic. I get lots of compliments on my car. I really like the digital features on the dash. The four cyclinder in this car is almost as good as the v6 in my 02 accord. I also really like the body style all though i would like for the tail lights to be euro lights.

Bit of a tripod - 2004 Honda Civic
By Azrael - September 24 - 4:07 amI bought this car in 2006, and have not had a single problem. I love taking it up past 5000 (and so does it). You cant give this car too much abuse. It just laps it up. Although, I agree with top gear, it is a "bit of a tripod". It handles like a dream, and accelerates like a bloody rocket! Im averaging about 30-35 on the highway, and thats at a constant 6500 rpm! Im pretty sure if I slowed down a bit, I could get better mileage. Nah...

Strong Compacted Car! - 1995 Honda Civic
By Alex - September 24 - 1:39 amThis car is one of the best hatchbacks honda made. The car is very reliable and that 1.6 L vtec engine is very promising. Very happy with my honda, i might keep it forever and give it to my future son. Gas mileage is good too! less than 30 dollars to fill it up!

Love it! - 2009 Honda Civic
By Frank - September 23 - 5:43 pmI traded in my 2007 civic EX for the 2009 version. Thats how much I like these cars. Its always been my practice to buy the car that depreciates the least (even if you have to pay list), end trade every other year. I spend practically nothing on maintenance, and my cost is only minimal depreciation.

2012 Civic Driving Experience - 2012 Honda Civic
By kmorse8011 - September 23 - 10:00 amSince there isnt a lot out there on the 2012 Civic EX-L with Nav. just wanted to share my experience. I traded a 2009 Avalanche for this car. Going from my Avalanche to a Civic took a little bit of physical and emotional adjustment. The avalanche averaged about 18 mpg the civic just under 40. I weigh 250 lbs and dont find the car uncomfortable. Filling up the civic about $35. A big drop from $110. for the Avalanche. The car is peppy if you want to drive it hard but using the eco and trying to stay in the green as much as possible is best for fuel. The near 40 mpg that I managed was some hwy and in town driving. So its a good estimate for the average driver. I was using the ac all the time
