Model Overview:

Since its launch in 1973, the Honda Civic has been one of the most popular compact cars sold in America. Its success can be attributed in large part to its consistently high level of quality inside and out and its long-standing reputation for reliability and low running costs. Impressive fuel economy and engaging performance have also played a role in making the Civic a top choice for many Americans.

The competition has largely caught up with Honda, though, and there are now many excellent small cars vying for your attention. Still, we continue to recommend the Civic due to its ergonomic interior layout, wide range of models and high resale value. For small-car shoppers in search of a solid used vehicle, the Honda Civic is certainly a smart choice, as its long production run and many variants make it easy to find what you want.

  • Best Small Car on the Market - 2007 Honda Civic

I purchased my 07 Civic as new in Jan. 08 with only 3900 miles. I have since racked up nearly 10,000 miles on the odometer in mostly highway driving. I have to say I am very pleased with the fuel efficiency of this car. I have averaged between 35 & 37 mpg on nearly every fill-up. This is a great car, much better than anything GM or Ford has to offer in the same segment. I considered a Prius until I stopped to look at who drives these things...OLD PEOPLE. The Civic has great exterior styling, nice interior quality, fit & finish and a reliability rating that is among the best in its class. Buy Certified Used and get an even better warranty. Paid $18,598 for an 07 EX/Navi with 3900 miles.

I am averaging 45 mpg over all with my new Honda Hybrid. I am on the 3rd tank of gas and for the last 75 miles, (all in town) I have driven I am getting 71 mpg so far. Very good acceleration for passing. Very fun to drive after my 2002 Dodge Ram 1500 4-door 7/16 mpg.

  • Perfection on wheels - 2004 Honda Civic

My Civic is actually my first car. I live by Consumer Reports, and I did so much research and in the end I decided to get either a Civic or a Corolla. After test driving both cars though, I knew that I had to get the Civic. Its so much fun to drive. Ive been behind the wheel of several cars, and the Civic is just a pleasure. It handles curves wonderfully...so lovely. Also, besides being fun, it is a very good, reliable, safe car. Last, as far as appearences go, I think the Civic is a rather nice looking car-stylish.

Brought the cute Civic for good gas mileage, reliability and low cost to operate and it delivers. I had a fast prelude, the Civic has little performance, but is fun to drive and light weight very good on the snow. The Civic look small, but very roomy and comfortable even for tall a person like myself. The Civic is the best bargain I can think of. Very happy to own a cute little Civic.

  • Civic is the Car of the Year! - 2006 Honda Civic

The car rides great, feels like you are on rails going around corners. The looks inside and outside of this car is great. Pretty comfortable with good seat adjustments. The car looks and feels more expensive then the selling price and of course the fuel savings. Honda did a good job in bringing this civic to market no wonder why it is rated Car of the Year!

  • Grandpap - 2007 Honda Civic

The more miles the car gets, the better miles per gallon. Yes you have to drive like Grandpap to receive the below. At 55 miles per hour when it was new: 53 highway and city mpg. At 5 months old: 69 highway/59.5 city mpg. I never let the tach go over 3k rpm.

  • civic is fun to drive - 2001 Honda Civic

I got this car because I wanted something economical. And that is what the Civic is very economical. I average 31-33 MPG which is great considering that I drive mostly in the city. But what I like most is how responsive this car is. It is almost unbelieveable how when you hit around 3000 RPMs and you can feel and hear the VTEC working hard. Great car overall!

  • Time for another Hybrid - 2005 Honda Civic

Have had a lot of fun with this car. Driving is fun and playful. I have figured that traveling East to West I gain 10% on mileage because of the winds generally from the West. I have gotten up to 52 mpg on the NYS Thruway eastbound and 48 westbound. Drops to 46 mpg going through the Berkshires. Lots of pep and pickup. Surprised my wife on its passing capability.

  • I might be a Honda man now, for life - 1996 Honda Civic

I recently bought a 96 Civic EX for commuting back and forth to and from work. For a 13-year-old car, I was surprised to find that all of the little extras (power windows, A/C, remote trunk/gas door releases, cruise, etc.) still worked great. I took the car to a friends place (hes a mechanic by trade) and put it up on his hoist, and for a car thats been subjected to Canadian winters all its life, theres surprisingly little rust. I had a few things to change, such as the gas tank, fuel lines, a shifter assembly bushing and a CV boot, but these are all fairly common things for a car this age in Canada to need. It has no guts whatsoever, but its comfortable, cheap on gas and looks great
