Model Overview:

Since its launch in 1973, the Honda Civic has been one of the most popular compact cars sold in America. Its success can be attributed in large part to its consistently high level of quality inside and out and its long-standing reputation for reliability and low running costs. Impressive fuel economy and engaging performance have also played a role in making the Civic a top choice for many Americans.

The competition has largely caught up with Honda, though, and there are now many excellent small cars vying for your attention. Still, we continue to recommend the Civic due to its ergonomic interior layout, wide range of models and high resale value. For small-car shoppers in search of a solid used vehicle, the Honda Civic is certainly a smart choice, as its long production run and many variants make it easy to find what you want.

  • Best bang for the buck. - 2003 Honda Civic

Ive had my 2003 Civic LX sedan for a year now and I love it! Its fairly peppy for a 4 cylinder car but I wish it had more power (my weekend car is a Firebird so Im kind of spoiled by its power). The Civic is reliable and fun to drive. The seats are comfortable and the fuel economy is excellent. I usually get 34-36 mpg with my mostly highway driving. My all time best was 41 mpg for a 230 mile highway trip.

  • Drive Green Save Green - 2007 Honda Civic

You cant beat a Honda Civic Hybrid with voice activated navigation. This eco-friendly auto gets great gas mileage (avg. 46+ MPG) in city & hwy driving., it is fun to drive, has some terrific features and its a Honda so what else is there to worry about? Slight decrease on the EPA ratings 49/51 are to be expected as we live in an area that has a lot of hills. Our HCH has a Thule Roof Rack and generally have surfboards on them most of the time. Most people dont realize that EPA estimates for Hwy are tested at 55 mph with one occupant weighing less than 150 lbs, and without the AC running.

  • Good outweighs bad! - 2005 Honda Civic

My Civic is great. The gas mileage is exceptionally good, power is adequate, and so far its been extremely reliable.

  • Quality and realiability - 1998 Honda Civic
    By -

Plain and simple, this automobile is a joy to own. It performs suprisingly well on the road given the fuel economy, and gives a superb comfortable ride, inside and out. Fit and finish is excellent, with few annoying return trips to the dealership ever required. All neccessary controls are within easy reach over the driver for ease of use.

  • 422,000 km and still running - 1990 Honda Civic
    By -

Bought my Civic Si brand new in 1990, added A/C in 92 when the new gen came out and dealer installed unit for half price. I went to Ziebart for rustproofing and undercoating in the first month, the car is only showing small rust spot on the left rear fender. Very reliable and surprisingly roomy

  • Good commuter car - 2008 Honda Civic
    By -

Very good if have a commuter drive open driving with a few stops but not interstate. Doesnt like 60 MPH+ but 55 and lower does well and gets great gas mileage as long as you drive conservatively. If you try and drive like it was the performance car you traded in you will be disappointed in mileage.

  • Love the 6 speed manual transmission - 2016 Honda Civic
    By -

Im 48 years old and this is the my favorite car I have ever owned. I get 41 mpg combined city and highway. The car is fun to drive. I have the LX, so I like that it is less technical than the other models. It has manual dials for volume and temperature controls and I havent had any problem with the Bluetooth.

  • first car - 1994 Honda Civic
    By -

This was my first car, got it in high school (DX hatch, 5-spd). Not problem-free but I drove it hard, and it was a blast to drive (I now have an LS1 Camaro which is infinitely faster and more powerful but this Civic was so light it was just a lot of fun). Unfortunately this car was totaled by my sister about 7 years ago. Sometimes I wish I still had it. Gas mileage was an honest 27 city / 32 highway - real numbers not EPA.

  • 2016 Civic, Will the test of time give it 5 stars - 2016 Honda Civic
    By -

After looking at a few makers of cars I chose the Civic. The three main reasons were, previous experience with Honda product, Honda service experience, and I liked the new model. The four star rating I gave it was because the fifth star is earned threw the test of time. If it does as well as my other Honda products, it will earn one more star. Update. Great gas mileage (35.2 combined). Quieter than previous Civic but still highway speeds a little loud. You seam to sit lower in the cockpit than previous model which is good for taller driver. My wife and I are shorter drivers so I wish both front seats could be adjusted higher. You can det used to it but it would be on my wishlist.
