Model Overview:

Since its launch in 1973, the Honda Civic has been one of the most popular compact cars sold in America. Its success can be attributed in large part to its consistently high level of quality inside and out and its long-standing reputation for reliability and low running costs. Impressive fuel economy and engaging performance have also played a role in making the Civic a top choice for many Americans.

The competition has largely caught up with Honda, though, and there are now many excellent small cars vying for your attention. Still, we continue to recommend the Civic due to its ergonomic interior layout, wide range of models and high resale value. For small-car shoppers in search of a solid used vehicle, the Honda Civic is certainly a smart choice, as its long production run and many variants make it easy to find what you want.

  • You could find a better car, Period! - 1996 Honda Civic

I have owned my car for about ten years. It has been from New england to Florida a few times. Its been so reliable that I would recommend this car to anyone who wants very little headaches and does not obsess over transportation. In ten years of ownership Its been in the shop for CV joints, for an electrical malfunction in gas tank and for power window regulators, all 3+ years apart! What more can you say about that? Oh yes, tires and brakes are inexpensive. The car is so simple to work on that you can 80% of the repairs yourself, if handy. Car has 163K on it, bought it with 30K. Ive waxed the car, so rust is just now starting on fender.

I got this car when oil prices were skyrocketing and cannot believe how much it saved me! I was driving a 2005 Pontiac GP and only got 22 mpg on average. I get about 35 mpg with my Honda! My best tank was 43.2. My worst tank (on purpose) was 29.7. I just wish it was a 6 speed. I would like to see how much better I can get on the highway cruising at 1800-2000 RPMs instead of 3000. It is so much fun driving this beast. The new 1.8L engine purrs wonderfully. It can really get up and go fast. The new two-tier dash is pretty slick looking. I can always just see how fast I am going without taking my eyes off the road, which is nice without a cruise control feature. You will not be disappointed. :)

I have had the car for 6 yrs and have only put 38000 miles on it due to the fact that its parked more often than not. First it was the tranny then the head gasket then the front end right now its the valve cover gaskets [oil in my plugs] and the 4 ignition coils [auto stores want app. 50 bucks each thank god for Amazon got for 60] I used to think Honda was good. Now I no they are good GOOD FOR NOTHING Would not recommend to my worst enemy .

This is my 6th Honda, my first Hybrid, so far the fuel mileage exceeds the sticker. Been getting 46 plus, city & highway. Typical Honda, very solid and fun to drive. I did notice for some reason the brakes are not as good as my last couple Hondas.

  • I love my car!!! - 2002 Honda Civic

This is a great car. After spending 3 years driving a Hyundai Accent, this car blows that one right out of the water. The engine while is not of the same caliber of the Mustangs of the world, it has the "spunk" and pickup that I never saw in my Hyundai. I just love this car!

  • Nice car with a nice price. - 2002 Honda Civic

I just got this car about two weeks ago, and I love it ever since I drove out from the dealerships parking lot. The transmission look weird at first, but once you start changing gears, itll became second nature to you. And the seat, its just the best seat I have ever sat in! (Under $20K) It got really good support to your back and torso, and the steering wheel, its give you the feeling that you are driving an S2000 (no kidding!) To sum it up, the SI might not be the fastest car youve ever drove, but for a car thats give you so much fun (and standard equipments) well under $20K, who really care ;-)

Bought this a week ago and love it! So much fun to drive. Heated leather seats are great in the cold the weather, love the one-touch sunroof. At first I wasnt sure about the split dash when I was shopping around, but after driving it its so easy to get used and actually a lot better for checking your speed. Great on gas too.

  • Great Car - 2005 Honda Civic

I recently acquired the Honda Civic Hybrid. I purchased this car due to the price of Gas and the inefficency of both of my other cars. I have a Saturn Vue and a Pontiac Firebird. Neither of which even get half of the mileage that I get on the Hybrid. I also test drove the Honda Accord Hybrid but couldnt justify the additonal cost and it was not more efficient than my other cars.

This automobile meets the vast majority of my needs, town & some highway. Average overall mileage is in the low 40s. The 2 tier dashboard is great, important gauges easily read. Removed rear head rests for improved visibility to the rear.

  • As good as it gets! - 1999 Honda Civic

This is a flat out great car. Unmatched reliability for a great price. I have only 84,000 miles on mine and each time I think about getting a new car, I just think about how little it cost me to own this car and I keep it. I get between 300-330 miles between fill-ups and I have never had any problem with the car. Just had routine maintenance done.
