Model Overview:

Since its launch in 1973, the Honda Civic has been one of the most popular compact cars sold in America. Its success can be attributed in large part to its consistently high level of quality inside and out and its long-standing reputation for reliability and low running costs. Impressive fuel economy and engaging performance have also played a role in making the Civic a top choice for many Americans.

The competition has largely caught up with Honda, though, and there are now many excellent small cars vying for your attention. Still, we continue to recommend the Civic due to its ergonomic interior layout, wide range of models and high resale value. For small-car shoppers in search of a solid used vehicle, the Honda Civic is certainly a smart choice, as its long production run and many variants make it easy to find what you want.

I like this car a lot. Im currently getting 42mpg overall calculated from mileage and number of gallons to fill up. The car calculates mileage at 40mpg (Probably doesnt take into account the engine stops?). Im used to a big fast car, so I listen to Led Zeppelins How The West Was Won to compensate for the small car. It seems to get plenty of torque starting and over 55mph. Around 30-55mph the power is lacking. Someone said I can get better gas mileage if I turn off the engine while going down hill (affraid to try, dont want to mess up the engine). If money is not an object, I would recommend the Lincoln Town Car and convert it to natural gas. The Civic is half the price though.

This is my second Honda Civic LX 4 door sedan (5 speed manual). Overall, it appears to be a great car. It seems to be a notch or so down from my first Civic (1993 bought new). I traded in my 2003 4 door Tacoma P/U due to a wreck and rising fuel costs so I have had a bit of an adjustment. Fit-and-finish is good as typical from Honda. For the price I paid minus my trade in, it was a good trade off.

  • My 5th, and best Honda yet! - 2007 Honda Civic

This is my 5th Honda. Who knew the next gen would be out of this world? This is my 2nd Civic EX, and this 2007 red car turns heads, my son says the car is too cool for me, (I think he just wants it pristine when he starts to drive) and it handles like a dream. The acceleration is so smooth, I cant believe I resisted ATs all these years. The corners are no problem, I stop on a dime, good thing cuz I dont want the cops to see me! I sit and gaze at this car when it is sitting in my driveway. And I am pleased.

  • I got stuck with a dawg! - 2006 Honda Civic

This is a sad story! My heart is broken. Having just turned 50 without the resources to buy an Aston Martin, I traded in my ’02 Civic Sedan for a ’06 Coupe LX. It was love at first sight but destined for disaster. Within 2 weeks the airbag sensor failed. They fixed it. About the same time I started to experience a vibration from the front end. They diagnosed this as a torque converter problem that currently has no fix. And there’s more! The car is currently in the shop undergoing major surgery to repair an oil leak. All of this with less than 7000 miles. Apart from all that, this is a really fun car to drive and I only wish that Honda’s customer support were a little more responsive.

Ive only had my Civic LX sedan (automatic) one day but this is one impressive car. I love the way this car looks, handles, and rides. This generation of Civics reminds me of the Accords from years ago, and this is one thing that attracted me to the new Civic. I test drove an Accord LX this week and it was a great large car, but the Civics handling blew away the Accords. Overall, this car looks and drives like it should be far more expensive.

I rave about this car so often that two co-workers have purchased Honda Civics also. It is one of the best cars I have ever owned. And it is simply one of the best cars on the market. It looks beautiful. Runs wonderfully. Has a good stereo. Comfortable seats. Great visibility. The materials are top notch and the fit and finish is exceptional. Reliability has been perfect. I would buy another one without hesitation.

I fell in love with this car as soon as it was released! It has such a sporty look! And the price was just right! And most importantly its a Honda! I had just cooked my 1988 Accord after having driven it for 350,000 miles. The Civic has been wonderful! Just regular oil changes, tires and one new exhaust. Other than that ,nothing! Im selling it now, only because we had a baby and the two door is no longer practical. Im so sad to sell but bought a Honda Pilot to replace it. Gotta love Hondas! They go 4eva
