This Year's Model Updates:

In typical Honda fashion, the Civic receives a number of minor changes this year in order to keep it fresh. For the coupe and sedan, there's new exterior styling, including restyling for the front and rear bumpers, hood, headlights and grille. Inside, the audio speakers have been upgraded, extra sound deadening material has been added and floor mats are now standard in the LX and EX. The LX trim has slightly bigger wheels this year (15 inches) and standard keyless entry. A new value package contains air conditioning, a CD player and a new center console. For the Si hatchback, there are new headlight and taillight designs, larger 16-inch wheels and flashier interior trim. Like the regular sedan, the Civic Hybrid has updated styling, standard floor mats and improved speakers. It also has a new interior console with an armrest, adjustable rear headrests and a manual driver-seat height adjuster. Finally, all 2004 Honda Civic sedans and coupes have a new seatbelt reminder system.

Pros:
  • Fuel-efficient and environmentally friendly engines, roomy interior, reputation for durability and quality, impressive crash test scores.
Cons:
  • Top-of-the-line models are pricey, antilock brakes not available on DX or LX.

Fun to drive, lots of room, great gas mileage, excellent price!!

  • A gentle, smooth and responsive car. - 2004 Honda Civic

Outstanding appearance has brought many positive comments from others. Everything works and there are no rattles. Severe bumps give a mild thud rather than a bang and crackle. Steering excelent, responsive and easy. Very good radio with high frequency units up at ear level that is nice for one with a hearing deficit. Interior is larger than I expected and a big trunk space. Engine is very quiet with a very smooth idle.

Traded in my SUV for this car because gas was killing me. MPG is incredible in this car. Between 35-40 on the highway.

  • Wow! What perfect timing to buy a hybrid - 2004 Honda Civic

    Im getting 45 mpg.

  • A little disappointed - 2004 Honda Civic

I love the car, the design, comfort and reliability, but am only getting between 38 - 43 MPG. Not bad, but was expecting a lot better. I have tried to drive conservatively, but still got less than 43 in city driving. Highway seems to do better, but most of my driving is in traffic. So a little disappointed in the fuel efficiency, but overall I am enjoying the car.

  • great car....especially for the money - 2004 Honda Civic

We bought this car a little over a month ago, so obviously we dont have much to say about reliability. But, this is a great car. First of all, its beautiful (we got it in the green). Also, it has a very smooth ride, especially for a smaller engine. It accelerates very well, has an amazing turning radius, and gets amazing gas mileage. I LOVE the inside of it, very nice and sleek and uncluttered.

Mine is a Honda Civic EX - 5speed manual. I drive 85% highway and average 33mpg. Previous car was a V6 2000 GrandAM (automatic) and I am VERY impressed with the pick up & acceleration onto the highway with my Civic. I call it my poor mans BMW but thats a compliment because it has the classic exterior styling of a BMW without the outrageous price tag. Ive always been a GM buyer - especially Pontiac but after owning a Civic - Im Honda forever!

I love this car. It is fun to drive and the mileage is better the futher you drive it. Excellent manufactures assistance and concern. Dealer satifaction is high. Very nice people. I bought the car for gas mileage around town and it has satisfied me.

  • 2004 Civic LX 4 door - 2004 Honda Civic

This is my 6th Honda and I have not been disappointed in any of them. I traded a CRV for the 2004 Civic and dont regret it. The ride and drive is great. The mileage looks great, cant seem to empty the tank. If you can do without the sun roof and alloy wheels this seems the best buy. Very solid and a huge amount of room compared to the previous version. Nice car.

  • I love my Civic Hybrid - 2004 Honda Civic

My hybrid is fun to drive, gets great gas mileage, and has all the comforts of a Honda Civic EX. I would recommend this car to anyone who is looking a comfortable sedan, with excellent pickup and is good for the environment. Dont forget, you get a $2,000 cash back from the IRS for the first year you own the vehicle. Also, if you live in Virginia, you can ride the High Occupancy Vehicle lanes with no additional passengers until July 2006. It makes getting to work a breeze.
