Model Overview:

Since its launch in 1973, the Honda Civic has been one of the most popular compact cars sold in America. Its success can be attributed in large part to its consistently high level of quality inside and out and its long-standing reputation for reliability and low running costs. Impressive fuel economy and engaging performance have also played a role in making the Civic a top choice for many Americans.

The competition has largely caught up with Honda, though, and there are now many excellent small cars vying for your attention. Still, we continue to recommend the Civic due to its ergonomic interior layout, wide range of models and high resale value. For small-car shoppers in search of a solid used vehicle, the Honda Civic is certainly a smart choice, as its long production run and many variants make it easy to find what you want.

  • Good Car - 2008 Honda Civic

I have had this car for 4 months and so far I am still enjoying driving it. It has plenty of room inside, good pick up, quiet ride (even on the highways). Overall I still feel good about the purchase.

I got this car from a used car dealer about 1 year ago, and have not had any problems whatsoever. I will say that the seats arent all that comforting for long rides and the default radio system lacks, but aside from this, no complaints. Overall, this car is very reliable.

  • Not just a good hybrid, a good car! - 2006 Honda Civic

This car is much better than the 05 model or the Prius, I feel. Its more comfortable, and the interior design is very functional yet very cool-looking. Theres tons of storage, the steering is very quick with no dead zone, the forward view is very good considering its steep angle, and the controls are laid out very well. The exterior, identical to the sedans, is surprisingly sleek and sporty-looking, except the rear end which is more like a traditional Civic. Acceleration is good at all speeds. I get 39-42 mpg on the highway at 80 mph, 42-48 mpg at 30-60 mph, and 35-39 mpg in bad traffic with acceleration followed by sudden braking all the time. My last tank was 41 mpg over 427 miles.

Ive had my Civic for at least mths and I love it. I have modded it some, far has halo projector headlight, smoked turn signals, fog lights, intake n such. I have maintained it extremely well. I love it, the car is fun to drive, easy to park, the carb will play with ya sometimes far as power but overall the car is wonderful. I will prob keep it long as it runs and then get a small rebuild kit and drive it some more!

  • The resale value was good at least! - 2008 Honda Civic
    By -

I purchased this car after owning a 1997 Toyota Camry. Except for a bum battery, I regretted trading that old car for the civic. The ride is rough in a civic, I got stuck numerous times in snow and ice -had to get every spec of snow from my drive way so that I wouldnt get stuck. The brakes are awful. They slip, and I can feel them vibrating when coming to a stop. I thought something was wrong until I took them to 2 mechanics, both of whom told me the brakes were fine. It was otherwise dependable, only stranded me once, after almost two years of long distance driving. But Im tired of fearing winter so Im trading it in for something that handles better. Got a decent price for it at least!

People must be small in Japan. U dont get in it. U get down into it. They even put a handle above the passenger doorway so people can pull them selves out. havent had it long enough to talk about mileage.

  • Did i make a mistake buying this car ? - 2015 Honda Civic
    By -

It is not worth all the money and sure ass hell the slowest honda i ever bought. Thumbs down to honda for ruining the si. Supposed to be fast and they keep making these things slower and slower. I made a total mostake buying it. Now stuck on a 6 year plan to pay as much as if i bought a left over evo or sti. Give or take a few thousand ..

  • I love my civic - 2007 Honda Civic

I love my civic. For a long time I have been a Toyota man, but with the concern to civic it won my heart over. It is fun to drive, reliable, and I feel safe in my car. The design if fun and the features are interesting. I love the two tier gauges, although I will say that i had some reservations about the at first.

  • Great Car - Hatchback bring them back - 1993 Honda Civic
    By -

I have 1993 Civic Si with 246,000 miles and plan adding another 50,000. Love the hatchback, Honda need to bring it back. Getting 31-34 mpg in winter, 28-31 in summer with AC. Replaced the clutch 205,000 and manual transmission 210,000. Lost the starter coil 215,000. Paint is starting to go and the Honda’s typical wheel well rust starting to show and get bad. Sunroof stopped working 190,000ish. Thought Id let it go and replace the car, but the dang car just keeps going, cant justify replacing it yet. Gas tank is on the smallish side. My major complaint is the missing lights on chime, this has caused me no end of heart burn.
