Model Overview:

Since its launch in 1973, the Honda Civic has been one of the most popular compact cars sold in America. Its success can be attributed in large part to its consistently high level of quality inside and out and its long-standing reputation for reliability and low running costs. Impressive fuel economy and engaging performance have also played a role in making the Civic a top choice for many Americans.

The competition has largely caught up with Honda, though, and there are now many excellent small cars vying for your attention. Still, we continue to recommend the Civic due to its ergonomic interior layout, wide range of models and high resale value. For small-car shoppers in search of a solid used vehicle, the Honda Civic is certainly a smart choice, as its long production run and many variants make it easy to find what you want.

I love my civic, i would like anyone else want more horsepower. There are a bunch of things i could say good about the car so im gonna say some bad stuff. The sheet metal is too thin in some places, changing gears from first to second above 4500rpm will grind, the car gets dings really easy. These are just small things i would tell anyone who wants a good car and great fuel econmy to get this car. 70000 miles and still going strong no problems.

Im very picking about cars, and there is a reason Ill only own a Honda. The Si is a great car, awesome to drive, and the shifter is the perfect place. Once you drive this car, youll buy it. I give it two thumbs up all around!

I found the styling good, the performance is great, but Im disappointed on the fuel economy. The comfort level is great. The road noise is not quiet. Needs work on that.

  • Love my new 2016 Civic LX - 2016 Honda Civic

I really love the new design, and roomier interior. This was supposed to be for my wife who is small and I thought might be too small for me to drive, not the case.Very comfortable to drive and lots of room.No complaints, although I dont like the brake button near the center of console, too easy to hit by mistake and for me the jury still out on the capless gas tank. Im just used to having a gas cap my whole life so will have to get used to it.Otherwise this is my 4th Honda previously had a 2003 Civic,2006 Accord, still have my 2014 Crosstour (which I love) so totally sold on Honda!

I bought the Honda because it was rated car of the year and was known to be a great car. I have had one problem after another, since the beginning. It was hesitant to start and the braking was not right. Honda could not find the problem. I was going thru one set of tires after another, and found out the upper control arm was damaging them. Then the a/c compressor choke went out costing over $1200 and now both headlights went out at once. Has anyone ever tried get to the headlight to replace it. Good luck! Only to find out it was the switch assembly costing another $480. Handles poor in snow, sun visor broke, paint chips all over and the interior is scratched. No more Hondas 4 me!

  • Still the best... - 1997 Honda Civic

I purchased this car in 2001 @56K. I did 200K since then, had an accident and the car still runs with no problem. My next car will be a Honda Civic as it packs quality and reliability in one package. Go Civic!

  • Mileage? - 2009 Honda Civic

Not sure if the city mileage rating is for less densely packed urban areas, but I drive around Chicago all day and get about 18 mpg in the city. I havent done much highway driving yet, but those times where I have, Im pretty sure Im getting over 30 mpg. My Civic only has about 700 miles on it (its hard to rack up miles in the city), so Im hoping once its fully broken in the mpg will get a little better. Its still a lot better than my old 95 Explorer which got about 8 mpg in downtown Chicago.

  • The Worlds Best Hatchback - 1993 Honda Civic

I received this car from my father after another driver took an early left at an intersection and totaled my 1999 Honda Civic coupe. Needless to say, I adore this car. The interior is minimalistic and easy to use right away. The exterior is genius and I love the shape and design. With this car stock, I can rev this car as much as I want and it eats it up. The transmission is still sound after all these years and shifting is always smooth. Its the perfect size car, and I will always love this car very much. I intend to keep this car for a very long time, which even after 16 years on the road seems like no problem (no mechanical problems ever!). This is one of the best cars you could own!
