Overview & Reviews
Since its launch in 1973, the Honda Civic has been one of the most popular compact cars sold in America. Its success can be attributed in large part to its consistently high level of quality inside and out and its long-standing reputation for reliability and low running costs. Impressive fuel economy and engaging performance have also played a role in making the Civic a top choice for many Americans.
The competition has largely caught up with Honda, though, and there are now many excellent small cars vying for your attention. Still, we continue to recommend the Civic due to its ergonomic interior layout, wide range of models and high resale value. For small-car shoppers in search of a solid used vehicle, the Honda Civic is certainly a smart choice, as its long production run and many variants make it easy to find what you want.

Fun car with economical personality - 2008 Honda Civic
By reedhands - January 14 - 4:56 amI love this car...I bought it brand new off of the lot and have loved it since! I have the manual and love it...only negative feedback would be it needs a stereo with more output for when you really want to rock out. Everything you could want in a car, great price, great gas mileage, roomy truck and big enough to fit four...awesome!

Stay with quality you know! - 2004 Honda Civic
By jpc477 - January 12 - 10:51 pmI just bought an 04 Civic EX. I had owned other Hondas but for a period of time owned an 03 Mazda Protege then an 05 Hyundai Santa Fe. The Civic I have now runs & drives flawlessly and is solid when it comes to handling. I dont worry like I did with the other cars when I see gas go up. The moral of the story is if youve been a Honda owner especially for a while and are thinking of something else, stick with what you know. You just cant go wrong with these vehicles.

Love the engine and practicality - 2007 Honda Civic
By jsabowabo - January 12 - 2:20 pmIm a 28 yr old power junkie (engine wise) and I can tell you this cars 2.0 iVTEC motor is a gem. It feels normal below 5800 rpms, then pulls hard until 8200 rpm fuel cutoff. The exhaust note is pure music. The handling is first rate (compared to my 2007 Mazda MX-5), as are the brakes and gearbox. The interior looks great, seats are very comfortable and supportive. The black cloth does show lint very easily though. Im averaging about 27 mpg, but it depends how you drive. You could baby it and get 30 or drive like a maniac and get 20. About my only gripe with the car is the rev-hang issue. Revs dont drop instantly about 3k, not a big deal. Overall I love the car, beautiful.

Nice coupe - 2006 Honda Civic
By Colorado - January 12 - 8:56 amHave the car for about 6 months now. Not many complaints at all. The biggest one is that the I still can not find a seating position that is 100% comfortable. I am 6ft tall and whatever seat position I adjust to, it feels not really comfy. Getting good gas milage (32-35mpg). No problems so far.

EPA mpg VERY misleading - 2015 Honda Civic
By Ken P - January 11 - 5:26 pmI own a 2004 Honda Civic EX which gets very very good mileage, STILL. Just recently purchased (09/2015) the 2015 model, and it is much worse in terms of gas mileage. I loved Honda up until this. I have no bad words for Honda, but this just sucks in terms of quality. I am averaging 24-26 mpg in the city, and that is with grandma type driving. I purposely have been driving that way, to test the mileage accurately. Update (08/2016): We noticed the navigation system is just awful, after multiple attempts at use. The gps does not work properly in relation to the navigation, because it will give you locations of items in states thousands of miles away. If you dont search under the proper category, you will not find your desired item. Basically, you need to know the proper category to search for each destination. Also, the sirius xm radio has too many dead areas within a large metropolis. It could also be a problem with the cars system or antennae. Overall, the ENTIRE computer system that handles the navigation and entertainment is SLOW SLOW SLOW. As for mileage, it seems to have gotten a little better. However, its still not on par with the ratings on the sticker.

Pseudo-Ode to My Honda - 2002 Honda Civic
By Honda Honey - January 11 - 4:11 pmCivic you were not the best looking, fastest or not even that exciting, but you were dependable and you gave me a lot of miles off one tank of gas. You had to be pushed up even the small hills and the road and wind noise a nuisance, but you made every trip just fine. Your sound system was just there and comfort could have been better, but I still loved you and miss you to this day. But alas I will try something new and more exciting in the near future even though I will never forget you... the one who I could count on to cheerfully start each morning no matter what abuse I dished out.

2005 Honda Civic - 2005 Honda Civic
By Kevin - January 10 - 4:18 pmI bought this Honda new because I had an 89 that ran like a champ! The car gets great gas mileage and I only use it for commuting to work. I have 60K miles on it and the manual transmission is screaming! Dealer says new trans. It sounds like a bearing inside the trans. Honda will not do anything about it. They gave me the run around and told me it is my fault. I have a 1966 Ford Bronco with the original manual transmission, never rebuilt! I wont buy another Honda.

Best Civic Yet! - 2006 Honda Civic
By Steve - January 10 - 3:00 pmBest civic ever made, we traded in a CR-V, we averaged 22 mpg for this fuel sipping civic. Our other car is a 99 civic, and you cannot begin to compare the two. My family was awestruck when they found out the civic has a NAV! The NAV is excellent no complaints. Drive is luxury car smooth, handling and braking are A+. My wife says it is more difficult for her to park then the CR-V, but I think the windows are more sports car like. It is something you come quickly accustomed to. I am 65" and I fit great, much better than the older civic, however the passenger seat feels more cramped than the drivers. Good thing my wife lets me drive her car when we go together!

2001 Honda Civic - 2001 Honda Civic
By Iwannaarsx - January 10 - 10:00 amI love my civic, i would like anyone else want more horsepower. There are a bunch of things i could say good about the car so im gonna say some bad stuff. The sheet metal is too thin in some places, changing gears from first to second above 4500rpm will grind, the car gets dings really easy. These are just small things i would tell anyone who wants a good car and great fuel econmy to get this car. 70000 miles and still going strong no problems.
