Overview & Reviews
Since its launch in 1973, the Honda Civic has been one of the most popular compact cars sold in America. Its success can be attributed in large part to its consistently high level of quality inside and out and its long-standing reputation for reliability and low running costs. Impressive fuel economy and engaging performance have also played a role in making the Civic a top choice for many Americans.
The competition has largely caught up with Honda, though, and there are now many excellent small cars vying for your attention. Still, we continue to recommend the Civic due to its ergonomic interior layout, wide range of models and high resale value. For small-car shoppers in search of a solid used vehicle, the Honda Civic is certainly a smart choice, as its long production run and many variants make it easy to find what you want.

Very Reliable but not incredible - 2015 Honda Civic
By Dave c - January 17 - 8:09 amThis car was good. It was comfortable but not luxury. Some trim parts seemed cheap and exterior was light weight. I would possibly buy again but consider others.

Amazing First Car - 1999 Honda Civic
By Hyduk87 - January 16 - 10:00 amMy first car. Now that doesnt mean I havent seen many cars, or experienced many. Ive driven quite a few, Ive never actually purchased one myself though. But, as for this 99 Civic, I can tell you, even with the problems I got with the car, this is still great. First, the problems. I got the car used, 103k miles. The dash lights wont turn on anymore (my guess is someone messing with the stereo didnt disconnect the battery and fried my instrument panel) but all other electrical stuff works great! Also, the car was tuned a little bit, low ride height and sports suspension. Makes for a bumpy ride and frame damage going over big bumps or steep driveways.

One awesome car - 2007 Honda Civic
By Tim - January 15 - 5:26 pmIf you want quality, reliability, fuel efficiency and low emissions, this is the car! Ive had my 2007 EX for one week now and just filled the gas tank - 30mpg city/highway was 40/60. Very comfortable and quiet. A lot of interior room for the size. Could use another two inches in leg room in the back. I am very satisfied with the car and expect 35 mpg when brohen in a little. I also expect to get 10 + years out of the car. Honda quality is very apparent and this car blows away all the Ford and Saturn cars Ive owned over the past 15 years. Honda - your stuck with me and my family. Ive given up on the unreliable, not so environmentally friendly, cheap Fords and Saturns.

Almost Perfect - 2007 Honda Civic
By galaxy-gray-si - January 15 - 4:23 pmMy old 1992 NX2000 was costing too much to repair so I needed a replacement. I wanted a vehicle that had a limited-slip differential and side-airbags for no more than $22,000 base price. The Mazdaspeed3 was just above my price range, and the Subaru WRX was too ugly and overpriced. Honda was selling to people like me when they decided to release a 4-door Civic Si to the market. The car has so much power you will need set of winter tires for safe winter driving. The ride can be a little stiff, but what did I expect from a sports sedan. Honda build quality, Honda reliability, Honda motor, Honda resale value, and price of admission made this the clear choice.

New owner & loving it. - 2004 Honda Civic
By Betty Jean - January 15 - 2:00 amI previously owned a 2001 Toyota Camry and found it was too much car for me and it did not have the pep and performance my former Honda Accord did. Gas consumption was 23 mi/gal around town and my new Civic is supposed to get 31 mpg. This is a big difference with the price of gas going up. I find that the visibility is much better than the Toyota with fewer blind spots that were very scarey in the other. No complaints on the Civic EX.

Fun Car. Two Thumbs Up!!!! - 2004 Honda Civic
By Shinzon2004 - January 15 - 2:00 amThis car is awesome!!! I needed an economical, sporty, and fuel efficient car that would get me from Point A to Point B. I bought the White(as the Value Pkg comes in only Red,White or Blue)It handles great and the 5-speed manual tranny shifts quite smoothly. It is also very comfortable. If you are looking for affordable, quality transportation that looks and handles great this is the car for you!!

My Little Honda - 2000 Honda Civic
By PHX - January 14 - 1:43 pmI bought my Civic new about 8 years ago. My A/C went out just before the warranty was out. That wouldve been a $1400 fix had it happened 250 miles later. Other than that, Ive had no problems until recently. It now has 128,000 miles on it. The transmission needs to be rebuilt and the front brakes need to be fixed. There are a couple of other leaks and seeps that also need to be addressed. Per the dealer, will be about $4000 to fix all. Im not happy with the transmission going out so early, but that could be from my driving, or some other factor. This car had definitely been reliable!

sick sivic - 2002 Honda Civic
By S_Elliott - January 14 - 10:00 amI baught my civic as my first car. The thing now has a little ove 6000 miles on it. As you can tell i like to drive it. Its fun, has great breaks and an easy clutch. I have put many upgrades like intake, exhaust, wing, rims things of that nature. And the car looks so clean. I would advise of purchasing a new honda civic.

Better Than Expected - 2007 Honda Civic
By Chad - January 14 - 10:00 amThe feel of the car takes a while to get used to, but when you start driving it a while, it becomes very easy and manageable to drive. When the engine shuts off at a stop sign or stop light, you have to be aware when on hills because it rolls back like a manual transmission vehicle. It has better acceleration than a 6 cylinder Mazda that I owned, and great interior comfort. I have been able to max out the storage capacity of the vehicle, and it has turned out to be very adequate for a smaller car.
