Overview & Reviews
Since its launch in 1973, the Honda Civic has been one of the most popular compact cars sold in America. Its success can be attributed in large part to its consistently high level of quality inside and out and its long-standing reputation for reliability and low running costs. Impressive fuel economy and engaging performance have also played a role in making the Civic a top choice for many Americans.
The competition has largely caught up with Honda, though, and there are now many excellent small cars vying for your attention. Still, we continue to recommend the Civic due to its ergonomic interior layout, wide range of models and high resale value. For small-car shoppers in search of a solid used vehicle, the Honda Civic is certainly a smart choice, as its long production run and many variants make it easy to find what you want.

2004 Civic LX Sedan BEST CHOICE EVER - 2004 Honda Civic
By way2fashionable - February 27 - 2:00 amI am a soon-to-be college graduate that is serious about quality and style. I just traded in my 99 Nissan Altima for a 2004 Honda Civic LX sedan and I LOVE IT. I cannot stress what a good value this car is. The body style is very European and the inside will remind you of a pricer Volkswagen Jetta! I recommend this car to anyone that is serious about style and value!

Love it! - 2016 Honda Civic
By Joanne Castro - February 26 - 8:54 pmI bought it in April 2016. Only 1 to 2 of this model per dealer since the Coupd is so new. I shop around for s nice, tech, fairly economic car... I am 20 yrs old... I had a used car prior to buying this one. I am still in college, live with parents, work part time.... I really love and enjoy my car a lot. Highly recommended.

Why dont they still make em? - 1994 Honda Civic
By Brent - February 26 - 10:02 amWhy dont they still make cars like this. I have 114k on this car and I am getting 40-42 mpg with a five speed manual trans. I drive conservatively so I get the gas mileage. I thought about buying a new civic but why??? Less mpg and a big dollar price. I hope to drive this for many years to come.

Hondas reputation comes through - 2001 Honda Civic
By Nate - February 25 - 9:11 amGood reliable car. With regular maintenance and responsible ownership, Ive never had any major problems. Great gas mileage! Seems to be built well, and is easy to fix and modify if necessary, both internally and externally. I hope to continue driving this car for years to come.

Ill keep it until the wheels fall off - 1999 Honda Civic
By BustedFlush - February 24 - 9:19 amHas it been 10 years? I used to live very close to work, so my Civic only has 95,000 miles on it. Had to replace the exhaust line (Ohio winters mean salt trucks) but otherwise no serious issues. Had the fuel filter replaced, new plugs, timing belt and a tune up around 85,000. Someone asked me why I buy cars (depreciating asset) instead of leasing - this is why. Mechanic says this car is just getting warmed up and I havent had a car payment since 2003.

By madmjennifer - February 22 - 10:00 amThis is a fun, reliable car that I plan to have for many years. Although Ive only had it for a little less than a year now, it hasnt given me any problems and I would still buy it if given another chance.

This car made me a huge Honda fan! - 2003 Honda Civic
By AZSoonerfan - February 20 - 3:07 pmI bought my 2003 Civic EX sedan new in Feb. 2003. 6 years later it has just under 100,000 miles and is running strong. I change the oil myself every 5,000 miles and take it in for service every 15,000. The only issue I ever had with the car is that the front seat now slightly rocks back and forth. I guess this is a common problem, but a cheap fix with some new bushings and you are good as new. The build quality of the car is outstanding. Hondas are known for a somewhat loud cabin, but the performance and handling are superior to Toyota or Nissan (and I have driven a Corolla and a Sentra to compare). I am still getting about 33 mpg in the city and about 36 hwy.

Terrific car, handles like a slot-car! - 2006 Honda Civic
By Michael - February 19 - 7:33 pmDriven the Civic for 2 months now and find it to be a wonderful car all-around, fuel economy at about 42 mpg at 70 mph with the A/C on! Car still gets looks in parking lots and at stoplights, even had one photographing it while at a rest stop on highway. Young daughter loves to sit in centre of back seat as it has the 3-point belt and shes able to see out the extremely large windshield easily. Car sticks to road with Turanza 55R16 tires and handles like a dream. First "import" Ive ever owned and after one ride each with our elderly fathers, they saw how great this car is.
