  • Disappointed!!! - 2007 Honda Civic
    By -

This is the 2nd Honda Civic that Ive bought and both have had problems. Ive had my car recalled 2-times. Within the 1st year I had to the car recalled, which included a h2o pump malfunction. I also had to put new brakes on w/in the 1st year and continue to hear a metal "clacking" noise when turning. I took the car to 2-mechanics and they havent been able to figure out the problem but continue to assure me that its nothing major! I really disappointed in HONDA! They just dont make things how they use to! I now looking @ HYUNDAI AND NISSAN and will probably go with HYUANDAI!

My last car was a 98 sunfire gt everything about the si is better. Its one of the most powerful naturally aspirated 4cyl in the world and it still gets me about 28 mpg. She corners on rails. Interior is ergonomic and attractive as well. Ill never buy another 5spd (6 is the only way to go). I have loved driving it, but havent been too lucky. Other than the third gear issue, it needs an alignment and has a nasty skip when cold. Also, i cant get xm radio to work (followed the directions in the manual and also got help from an xm rep). Al in all I definitely recommend this to anyone who doesnt need space for family.

  • Si Sedan - Fun, but... - 2007 Honda Civic

Love the overall value of this car - the performance and "fun" you get for the money has no compare on the market. However, I think Honda skimped a bit on interior material choices. Ive sought and destroyed a few annoying rattles - still have some rattles I havent been able to fix yet. You really have to get used to some quirks in the drivetrain caused by the Drive By Wire (DBW) tuning - delay in responsiveness when you push on the gas and the car holds onto the revs (rev-hang issue). This tuning is all done to meet the CAFE standards and earn the Low Emissions Vehicle tag - ALL GOOD, but detract from the overall potential of this very fun vehicle.

  • The Right Choice - 2007 Honda Civic

Ive had the Civic Hybrid for a month, and Im very pleased with its mileage (43 MPG over all), its comfort, its stereo, and its features. I thought about a Prius, but the Civic is better- -and a better buy. Its standard features are better--and you dont rack up another 3K in price to get good features. I used Edmunds to get a read, and these reviews really helped me. For example, at 61, I needed more leg room--and got it with the Civic. And golf clubs fit right in the trunk. Two kids in the back very comfortably. I drove an Accord in high school, and this Civic is the same size--very cool. Pick up is great when needed; but its mileage gauge teaches you to be a smarter with gas.

I have been very pleased with the quality and performance. I average about 35 mpg in a normal weeks driving on the interstate and in town. I do tend to drive a little faster than most people. I have got up to 41mpg while driving an average speed of 73 mph for over 500 miles but I was heading towards the midwest from the rocky mountains. A lot of compliments on the cars outside looks and inside looks. Everyone loves the navigation and I would not purchase another car without it. I am 63"215lbs and find plenty of room in this car. I dont think that I would be much bigger and drive this car though. I do not like the ipod hookup becuase it does not display song title or does not play all songs

  • Reliable gas miser - 2007 Honda Civic

After driving my SUV into the ground, I decided to quit spending so much at the gas pump. I wanted the most reliable, fuel efficient (somewhat) inexpensive car I could find. At one year and 8,000 miles, it has fulfilled my expectations. I would highly recommend this car.

  • Love This Car! - 2007 Honda Civic

6500 miles, no problems at all. Handling is equivalent to a Viper in the slalom. Summer tires combined with L.S. differential had no problem in 4" of wet snow at max 35mph! First oil change at 3000 miles switched to full synthetic. Recent 200 mile trip at 55- 65mph, conservative driving, yielded an astonishing 41mpg with 2 on board! Only issues I wish to resolve are low speed hesitation when engine is cold (exacerbated in winter), and balky 3rd gear engagement particularly when cold. Have come to like the funky dash layout. Incredibly comfortable, supportive seats. Great sound from intake, exhaust, and sound system. Happier with the Si than any other I have ever owned.

  • Commuter car - 2007 Honda Civic
    By -

I bought the Civic for my 80 mile round trip commute every day. It does the job very well but there have been a few issues that I didnt expect from a Honda (this is my first). The air conditioning failed (due to road debris?). Not covered by warranty for some reason. The tires wore out very fast and unevenly (upper rear control arms were replaced per tsb but not the tires). There were two recalls, one for rear bearings and the other for water pump pulley cracking. A rattle in the rear deck I fixed myself with foam rubber. Overall not bad, but more problems than I would expect from a new car. Still it is a competent commuter car and hasnt ever left me stranded.
