Overview & Reviews
Honda has completely redesigned the Civic for 2006. Highlights include a more powerful and fuel-efficient 1.8-liter engine, new exterior styling, an advanced interior design and more premium features. The company has also improved the gas-electric IMA system for the Civic Hybrid and restored the Civic Si trim's potency with a 197-horsepower engine and a sportier coupe body style. Midway through the year, Honda will also introduce a new "GX" trim level that runs on natural gas.
- Fuel-efficient and environmentally friendly engines, lots of standard safety equipment, roomy and refined interior, special Hybrid, GX and Si models.
- Polarizing dash design, top-of-the-line models are pricey.

Good so far - 2006 Honda Civic
By sal - June 15 - 9:00 amGot 41 mpg on first tank of gas. I suspect that will go up slightly as car gets broken in. I dont know why some people complain about not getting 50 mpg. Those estimates are under ideal situations. You never can replicate those conditions exactly. Interior quality is very good, car is quiet , low road noise. Generous legroom and headroom (Im 62"). Acceleration from standstill isnt great, but once it gets going it does well. Going up on hills is fine, because the battery assists the motor. Overall Im happy

good car, reliability issues - 2006 Honda Civic
By xr72p - May 24 - 12:36 amThis is a safe, very fuel efficient car (35+ hwy MPG) that handles well and is comfortable to drive. However, This car has been back to Honda dealerships to replace the AC compressor, to check for coolant leaks, and three times to fix a leaking power steering pump.

Honda Slips - 2006 Honda Civic
By limee - March 24 - 4:33 pmThis is my 4th Honda and have noticed with each one the build quality has deteriorated and problems have increased. This one immediately had creaking and groaning noises from the rear passengers side and has been in the shop twice and am awaiting a faulty shock. The build quality is severely lacking from my first tight Honda with ill fitting plastics and overspray inside the doors and boot and just generally lacking.
