Model Overview:

Since its launch in 1973, the Honda Civic has been one of the most popular compact cars sold in America. Its success can be attributed in large part to its consistently high level of quality inside and out and its long-standing reputation for reliability and low running costs. Impressive fuel economy and engaging performance have also played a role in making the Civic a top choice for many Americans.

The competition has largely caught up with Honda, though, and there are now many excellent small cars vying for your attention. Still, we continue to recommend the Civic due to its ergonomic interior layout, wide range of models and high resale value. For small-car shoppers in search of a solid used vehicle, the Honda Civic is certainly a smart choice, as its long production run and many variants make it easy to find what you want.

  • Better than imagined - 2016 Honda Civic

This is my second Honda Accord and my 2016 Civic EX is really a magnificent car. For under 20k it has many features and extras. Keyless, moonroof, really sharp exterior, backup and side mirror are some of my favorites. I totally recommend this vehicle. It should be at the top of everyones list if you are looking for a 4 door sedan with plenty of room inside and a stylish looking exterior. I bought the black and it looks amazing.

  • Nice Ride - 2002 Honda Civic

Yup, bought a Civic 2dr EX. Just like them all, had front struts replaced under warranty. No problem now. Solid ride, good interior room with large enough doors to get in and out (other car is 90 Miata so this one feels huge...) Hauls lots of stuff when I need it to. Good in the snow or with sunroof open in summer. Driver gets wet when it rains and windows are down a little (wish it had rain rails) Outstanding reliability. I think Ill have this one for a while...

  • Great Gas Mileage - 2004 Honda Civic

My husband gets over 45 MPG with this car on average, and this is with automatic transmission. The car comes with many things that are extra on other cars, such as cruise control, a CD player, and has the great safety feature of sideair bags. Highly recommend.

  • Best Car ever!!!! - 2007 Honda Civic
    By -

I bought this car one year ago and it currently has over 26,000 miles. Love the stick shift & wouldnt change it for anything. Drive 400 miles or more to a tank! Love the blue light display! Drove it from Houston to Dallas with a little over 1/2 tank. You cant beat that with any other sporty vehicle!!! And the looks I get. Wish I could afford the Si but this will do for now. Paint is too thin so I already have a few chipped dings thanks to flying rocks on the freeway but other than that, I wouldnt change anything

  • do not buy that car - 2006 Honda Civic

I made big mistake when I went to buy a car. I was looking for a car that I like (big mistake). I should look for the car that will have basic purpose: to run trusty without problems. I thought a new car should be trustful and HONDA is that kind of brand but on the first oil change (4500 mi) power steering fluid was leaking (changed hose), drivers door squeaking when weather is wet, when I step on brake I heard click-clack. Then (6000 mi) it was very noise squeaking when I go all the way left (changed p.s. pump). NOW, when the gear is in the drive position I heard noise is like metal hitting metal (on neutral position that sound has gone), I need more time to start engine in the morning...

  • Disappointed!!! - 2007 Honda Civic

This is the 2nd Honda Civic that Ive bought and both have had problems. Ive had my car recalled 2-times. Within the 1st year I had to the car recalled, which included a h2o pump malfunction. I also had to put new brakes on w/in the 1st year and continue to hear a metal "clacking" noise when turning. I took the car to 2-mechanics and they havent been able to figure out the problem but continue to assure me that its nothing major! I really disappointed in HONDA! They just dont make things how they use to! I now looking @ HYUNDAI AND NISSAN and will probably go with HYUANDAI!

  • I like very much - 2007 Honda Civic

My last car was a 98 sunfire gt everything about the si is better. Its one of the most powerful naturally aspirated 4cyl in the world and it still gets me about 28 mpg. She corners on rails. Interior is ergonomic and attractive as well. Ill never buy another 5spd (6 is the only way to go). I have loved driving it, but havent been too lucky. Other than the third gear issue, it needs an alignment and has a nasty skip when cold. Also, i cant get xm radio to work (followed the directions in the manual and also got help from an xm rep). Al in all I definitely recommend this to anyone who doesnt need space for family.

  • Another LEMON amongst many! - 2006 Honda Civic
    By -

Where do I start? My LX coupe has not tracked straight since the day I bought and after reading other reviews I noticed it seats higher on one side too. Dealer did a wheel alignment - no improvement. 2,300 mi. on the odo. Car is going back to the dealer because its wandering way too much and wants to change lanes by itself if you take your eyes off the road or hands off the steering wheel for 1/2 sec. Feels like the shocks are bad or the frame is bent. The brakes get mushy when going over bumps or while taking a turn. Steering vibrates under hard acceleration. There is abundant torque steer like a motor mount are broken. Seats are very uncomfortable! This is my 4th Civic and the worst1

  • Awesome on the highway if you drive slow - 2004 Honda Civic
    By -

I bought this car for my 65 mile round trip commute. Its awesome on the highway if I drive at a constant speed. Going 80, Ill get about 42 mpg. 65-70 mph and it will be around 45-48 mpg. Be a pain to everyone else (55-60mph) and get 49-52 mpg. Acceleration is horrible, and so is the throttle response when trying to stomp on the accelerator pedal. Overall, this car does what it is intended to, be a great commuter. In addition, it is easy to drive at the limits because the low rolling resistance tires are always screaming at you.

  • The perfect car! - 1997 Honda Civic
    By -

Ive had my 97 Civic since 2000 and as long as I keep it tuned up it is getting 40 MPG plus. That is with an hour commute with speeds up to 85 mph. The dealership offered a free warranty tune up once a year. I just had all the bodywork done and a high end paint 2004 Subaru Garnet Black (white and red pearl on black). With a Cold Air Pack you get that piece of junk 70s Honda motorcycle sound (+mpg). I got cool wheels, chrome exhaust tip, mirror tinted back windows... chicks dig it. It looks very similar to a picture I see on the edmunds.com 1997 Honda Civic Styles page. I have run alcohol and hydrogen through it with no problems at all. Very low maintenance and very good power for an economy.
