Overview & Reviews
Since its launch in 1973, the Honda Civic has been one of the most popular compact cars sold in America. Its success can be attributed in large part to its consistently high level of quality inside and out and its long-standing reputation for reliability and low running costs. Impressive fuel economy and engaging performance have also played a role in making the Civic a top choice for many Americans.
The competition has largely caught up with Honda, though, and there are now many excellent small cars vying for your attention. Still, we continue to recommend the Civic due to its ergonomic interior layout, wide range of models and high resale value. For small-car shoppers in search of a solid used vehicle, the Honda Civic is certainly a smart choice, as its long production run and many variants make it easy to find what you want.

Love at first sight - 2008 Honda Civic
By FD - May 28 - 9:46 pmIve only had my Honda LX for 2 weeks. The moment I sat down in it and put my hand on the 5 speed shifter I fell in love. On my first trip I got 37 mpg and since I have gotten 44 and 45 mpg. I drive conservatively about 60 -65 mph. I have always bought Toyota but couldnt find a 5 speed in my color and thought Id look at the competition. Glad I did. Beautiful car. It came with a slight problem with the am radio reception but Im getting that repaired at the dealer. Dont drive the civic five speed or you wont be able to turn it loose. I had a Toyota Supra and this car is just as much fun to drive and I find myself looking for an excuse to drive it.

2002 Honda Civic Ex 4dr - 2002 Honda Civic
By luvmyhonda - May 28 - 10:00 amAlthough I have only had my Civic for a few weeks, I am really impressed with this car. It is a good balance between comfort, economy and performance. This car will certainly not win a drag race but even with the a/c on it still has enough power to keep me happy, not to mention that on my first road trip it managed to get almost 41 mpg! The ride is supple and well controlled. The steering is nimble and the turning radius is short. The automatic transmission shifts smoothly and does not bog down or search between o/d and 4th while ascending a hill. The interior is laid out well and feels like good quality to the touch.

By MelissaW - May 26 - 10:01 pmI have owned this vehicle for a few months now and I have had absolutely no problems. I purchased the vehicle with 53,000 miles and I now have around 59,000. I have been averaging 32-35 miles per gallon (all highway).

Love my Civic. - 2007 Honda Civic
By Nora - May 25 - 11:33 pmI really like this car! No serious problems yet, the only thing is the sun visors that I have to replace because they break apart, but everything else is perfect for me. Have gotten many complements. My first Honda and I love it!

Satisfaction going from point A to B - 2002 Honda Civic
By Rob - May 25 - 6:22 amExcellent RELIABILITY is the bottom line here along with the NOTORIOUS Honda expected longevity makes it what it is, a great ride. Being a Civic it is not the luxury liner, but who wouldnt know that getting into it from the start? Works for me just fine as I am 510" 210#, anyone much larger would most likely make this model too small. Highly recommended for what it is. Change the oil, tires, maintain it as recommended and keep it clean and you will be a happy camper.

Good overall car - 2001 Honda Civic
By Brian - May 24 - 11:31 pmThis car has been quite reliable, never stranding me anywhere. It is somewhat sedate, but that has kept me from getting any tickets in it. This is a benefit in the cost of ownership, which had been very reasonable. I got 96,000 km out of the original tires, the brakes last forever, and oil changes are cheap (compared to my diesel f250). It has had a few minor issues, but I will cover that in the suggested improvements.

Honda Civic EX - 2004 Honda Civic
By Ly - May 24 - 10:00 amThe design wasnt quite up to the early models, but the reliability is still the best of coupes and hatchbacks.

Near perfect car - 2007 Honda Civic
By Jeff C - May 24 - 5:16 amThis thing is incredible. I loved my 2003 Acura RSX-S, but this is a step up. Yes, a step UP. It has more sophisticated technology, better build quality, more of the "it" factor, and its my daily driver. I still love my K20s, and this car is built so well around it, I am pleased to say that Ive never owned a car as satisfying as this. Get the navi, you will regret it if you dont buy it.
