Model Overview:

Since its launch in 1973, the Honda Civic has been one of the most popular compact cars sold in America. Its success can be attributed in large part to its consistently high level of quality inside and out and its long-standing reputation for reliability and low running costs. Impressive fuel economy and engaging performance have also played a role in making the Civic a top choice for many Americans.

The competition has largely caught up with Honda, though, and there are now many excellent small cars vying for your attention. Still, we continue to recommend the Civic due to its ergonomic interior layout, wide range of models and high resale value. For small-car shoppers in search of a solid used vehicle, the Honda Civic is certainly a smart choice, as its long production run and many variants make it easy to find what you want.

Great gas mileage car, very reliable. Weak front ends, but other than that great car. Love the gas mileage - 36 mpg.

  • Safest Hybrid on the Road - 2006 Honda Civic

I have driven Zip Car share vehicles since 2000, and so I knew well my options. The Prius was a perfectly nice car to drive, but I couldnt avoid noticing that it is dangerous to backup without making a sound, and the car is narrow and without great crash performance. The Civic Hybrid, on the other hand, is just like a regular Civic, only the gas engine can stay below 1500 RPM without lugging, a truly impressive feeling when you are averaging over 47 MPG in stop and go traffic. I would not reccommend it for anyone who mostly drives on the highway, but then, that is not what any hybrid does well, unless you can plug it in to a cheaper and/or cleaner energy source.

  • Horrid OS for such a cool car - 2016 Honda Civic

Loved the car right off. Road handling and acceleration is superb. Operating system is awful. Computer screen goes black, very slow to respond, currently cannot even change climate Temps because computer wont power up touch screen. SLAVE to OS.

  • Drive it before buying - 2017 Honda Civic

Had quite a few Civics before so decided to buy the 2017 for its looks and power with excellent mileage. Should have asked to drive it for half a day before doing it.Did not take long to find a few things wrong with it. The main one was when I noticed the navigation system did not have a CD player like 99% of the others do. It actually looked like an after market unit on it. The steering wheel controls are not intuitive or in the wrong place. The volume control is very hard to adjust and the cruise control easy to turn off by accident. Should have gone for the Kia Forte which for about the same price it comes with Cadillac features, like seats with both A/C and Heat, memory power seats for two drivers and two remote controls for gates and garage doors. Not to mention the 5 year instead of 3 warranty. The main reason I decided not go buy it was for its lousy gas mileage. If you decide to buy the Civic I sugges you insist in getting at least two years of free maintenance from your salesman which is not hard to get.

  • Great Car for the Money! - 2006 Honda Civic

This is a great car. I have had an SUV (Ford) for the last 3 years, and it is so great to have a car, and one that I know is going to last a long time! My SUV had issues at 24000 miles, and got 15 MPG! I had a Civic 15 years ago and it was a great car. I can see Honda has just improved on them. I have two small kids and the car seats fit fine (one booster and one for a 23 lb forward facing child.) I cant wait to enjoy the 30+ MPG (city). I have had the car for a week and havent even used 1/2 a tank of gas yet.

  • Great Car - Bang For The Buck - 2006 Honda Civic

I purchased my 2006 Honda Civic Si coupe about a week and a half ago. Although the dash is a little unusual, Ive adjusted to it. The fit and finish is great. I couldnt have made a better choice. The Civic won over the Scion Tc, Mazda3, Ford Focus and VW GTI. In the first week I already put over 500 miles on my car and hit 100mph. I couldnt believe the car had a $5,999 market adjustment price on top of the sticker. However, I only paid $700 over the dealers invoice.

  • Great all-around vehicle - 2007 Honda Civic

I have only had my EX sedan about a month, and currently have about 1000 miles on it. Thus far, I am averaging about 29 mpg, having driven pretty close to 50/50 city and highway. The car performs very well, is not overly noisy (certainly not for an affordable compact car), and has not disappointed in any way. The 5 speed auto trans shifts very smoothly, and keeps nice low rpms, even when cruising at highway speeds (pulls about 2250 rpm at a steady 70 mph). I would rate the build quality as very high, fit and finish is neat clean with very tight tolerances, no squeaks, rattles or odd noises. Having the AUX stereo jack is wonderful (works perfectly with my iRiver player).

Replaced a 1998 Integra with a 2006 Honda Civic. Many improvements from the last time we were car shopping. The new Civic is fun to drive, cool instrument panel display! Very smooth transmission, quiet engine, power everything, excellent gas mileage. This car is very spacious inside, its well built and looks stylish inside and out.

  • I love my Si - 2006 Honda Civic

The new civic Si is a fun great car. From its aerodynamics, to its power, Honda has really taken the civic to a whole new level. I recommend this car to everyone.

  • Japanese gas sipper - 2004 Honda Civic

Bought my 2004 EX 4dr/Auto for $16,999 with 2.9 APR. Nice new style. I do prefer the Coupe, but hate having to move my seat back and forth for ear passangers. After 3K miles, I had not one complaint yet. It handles well even though they took away the front Double wishbone. With the new front suspensions setup, the car does rides on the softer side.
