Model Overview:

Since its launch in 1973, the Honda Civic has been one of the most popular compact cars sold in America. Its success can be attributed in large part to its consistently high level of quality inside and out and its long-standing reputation for reliability and low running costs. Impressive fuel economy and engaging performance have also played a role in making the Civic a top choice for many Americans.

The competition has largely caught up with Honda, though, and there are now many excellent small cars vying for your attention. Still, we continue to recommend the Civic due to its ergonomic interior layout, wide range of models and high resale value. For small-car shoppers in search of a solid used vehicle, the Honda Civic is certainly a smart choice, as its long production run and many variants make it easy to find what you want.

I just bought my Hybrid this weekend but so far I think its fantastic compared to the Kia Sportage that I did have. I bought it for $19,200 but I had to add a little on since I was upside down on my Kia (a $10,000 depreciation in a little over a year!) I was scared it wouldnt have much power but it has more get-up-and-go than my Kia did, plus its so quiet and smooth. I drive 35 miles one way to work and averaged 45.6mpg (17mpg with my Kia).

Ive had mine for almost 3 months now and I still shake my head in disbelief when I look at it. Such aggressive styling on a car this size is rare and in this case very well done. The view of the road is appreciated, but the blind spots are troubling, but I am coming from a Maxima with windows all around and if you actually look and not just rely on mirrors then its fine. I have noticed the occasional rough shift in the transmission and a little hesitation/skipping at idle, but im sure its nothing a quick visit to the dealer wont fix. Im also not a big fan of the fact the rear entry effects the front seat position every time some gets in and out of the back seat.

I have only owned this coupe for a few weeks but it has lived up to and supassed all expectations. My MPG has been holding at 34mpg with around 75% highway driving. I love the responsive motor and handling of the car. I should also say that I am 53 years young and traded a F150 for this because the truck was killing me on gas.

The car handles much better then the four other makes of vehicles I test drove before buying the Honda Civic. It is pleasure to drive and much more responsive then I thought it could be. The gas mileage is great and the navigation system I wouldnt do without.

Purchased brand new, not a single repair. Still has original brake pads! Fantastic gas mileage, very fun to drive. Had to get aftermarket sound system as the factory version wasnt very good in 02. Planning to drive for 10 more years!

Been driving this car for 155000 miles.... not a single repair only scheduled maintenance. Absolute performance isnt great, but if you factor in the gas mileage and engine displacement, its quite good and all I really need for around the town driving. Interior is holding up extremely well for its age. All the trim pieces are as tight as the day I bought it and the soft touch material on the dash exudes quality. The ride is very smooth though the wind and engine noise can be slightly obtrusive at high rpm and speed. Lots of rear leg room and large trunk. This car has aged like fine wine whereas my old Saturn SL1 aged like stale beer.

  • Still Running Great - 1998 Honda Civic

This was my 2nd Civic hatchback and Im sorry they quit making them. I put 165,000 miles on the 1990 one before I sold it. The 98 car had a few design issues that made me love it a little less than the older one but has been more reliable and still gets >40 mpg on a road trip at speeds of 65-70 mph. My biggest complaints have been road noise and a little less cargo space, plus lack of an interior hatch release convenient for the driver. The biggest plus? Great gas mileage and total reliability!

  • You wont go wrong buying this Civic - 2007 Honda Civic

Negotiated price was $200 over invoice. Absolutely love the 5 speed manual. Overall, the car is outstanding in everyway. Handles like a go-cart with the 16" tires. Quite, solid, great radio. Dealer was great to deal with. Mileage appears to be in range of mid 30s, but car is still in break in. Like my wifes 2005 Honda Oydessy, expecting many a reliable carefree motoring mile from my new Civic.

SI is a civic all grown up with all the bells and whistles. Had a 95 with 145000, ran perfect when I sold it. Just rusted. This car has good pick up even in fifth gear. Gas mileage is decent, use the cruise control. Better features inside, cup holders etc. than older models.
