Since its launch in 1973, the Honda Civic has been one of the most popular compact cars sold in America. Its success can be attributed in large part to its consistently high level of quality inside and out and its long-standing reputation for reliability and low running costs. Impressive fuel economy and engaging performance have also played a role in making the Civic a top choice for many Americans.
The competition has largely caught up with Honda, though, and there are now many excellent small cars vying for your attention. Still, we continue to recommend the Civic due to its ergonomic interior layout, wide range of models and high resale value. For small-car shoppers in search of a solid used vehicle, the Honda Civic is certainly a smart choice, as its long production run and many variants make it easy to find what you want.

Happy Owner - 2001 Honda Civic
By amthax - June 25 - 10:00 amGreat car for the price. Replaced both front struts at 45K miles--after warranty expired. This is an expensive repair and not uncommon according to the dealership repair department. The quality of the interior material could be better, styling is very nice though. Overall I adore my Civic and would purchase again!

By Kevman - June 23 - 2:06 pmGot my EX-L 2 weeks ago. First tank of gas highway driving 34MPG. Very happy with that. Seat not the most comfortable, but OK. Needs Lumbar support. Pickup not too good, but to be expected. Alot of fun to drive. Should have auto-dimming mirror on EX-L model.

Works great! - 2005 Honda Civic
By excowdoc - June 22 - 11:20 amI have over 100,000 miles on the stick shift Civic and very little problems. The best mileage I got was 52 highway with the wind at my back. Consistently gets in the 40s except in very cold weather. The gear shift is its weakest point with occasional difficulties getting into reverse and the mechanics say is just the way this transmission is. I plan on running it into the ground because of the great mileage.

The Civic of the Future - 2007 Honda Civic
By Jabra - June 21 - 5:43 pmThis is my fourth Honda and my first Civic. I had a 2006 Accord that I really loved but when I test drove the 2007 EX I loved the sporty feel it had and the new styling. Five months later I am still loving my car. My wife had a small collision with the rear end but the car came through it with only $800.00 in damages. It never affected the ride or handling and just reinforced my appreciation of the quality of this car.

I love Lucy - 2001 Honda Civic

AC Condenser Problem - 2008 Honda Civic
By JCromer - June 20 - 11:03 amWe have driven our new 2008 civic only 3700 miles. We love the car and great gas mileage and have always thought highly of Honda. This has now changed as do to the design flaw to protect the AC condenser. Small rocks on the road will damage the condenser and it is on covered under warranty.
