Overview & Reviews
In typical Honda fashion, the Civic receives a number of minor changes this year in order to keep it fresh. For the coupe and sedan, there's new exterior styling, including restyling for the front and rear bumpers, hood, headlights and grille. Inside, the audio speakers have been upgraded, extra sound deadening material has been added and floor mats are now standard in the LX and EX. The LX trim has slightly bigger wheels this year (15 inches) and standard keyless entry. A new value package contains air conditioning, a CD player and a new center console. For the Si hatchback, there are new headlight and taillight designs, larger 16-inch wheels and flashier interior trim. Like the regular sedan, the Civic Hybrid has updated styling, standard floor mats and improved speakers. It also has a new interior console with an armrest, adjustable rear headrests and a manual driver-seat height adjuster. Finally, all 2004 Honda Civic sedans and coupes have a new seatbelt reminder system.
- Fuel-efficient and environmentally friendly engines, roomy interior, reputation for durability and quality, impressive crash test scores.
- Top-of-the-line models are pricey, antilock brakes not available on DX or LX.

Honda still #1 - 6 Hondas later! - 2004 Honda Civic
By sds59 - July 12 - 10:00 amThis is my 6th Honda! My first was an 86 Civic. Ive had Civics and Accords both. My family has had about 15 of them all together. You just can beat them for quality, value for the dollar, resale value, durability. Id recommend them to anyone and everyone.

Solid Economy - 2004 Honda Civic
By C. R. Hausman - July 12 - 10:00 amAlthough my Civic Hybrid does not get quite to mileage advertised, it consistently gives me mileage in the 40s and in the high 40s in highway driving. It is solid and has an excellent safety rating--which is one reason I chose it over the Toyota Prius. Its design is not pretentious, which I prefer.

Laugh at the Gas Stations - 2004 Honda Civic
By LoisAnn - July 12 - 10:00 amAs we pass the gas stations we laugh. Our Honda Hybrid gets 45 MPG and rides like a dream. It is fun to drive also. We really get a kick out of listening to the engine stop at stop lights. If you have a hybrid you know what I mean. Tee Hee

Good Civic - 2004 Honda Civic
By Big Al - July 6 - 10:15 pmGreat ride and fun to drive! Only complaint is that the gas tank filler cover wont open! You are supposed to open it by pushing down on the lever (or button) but it doesnt open. Well have to have that checked out.

Honda All the Way - 2004 Honda Civic
By Wally - June 14 - 11:53 amI have owned my 04 EX 4 door for four years now and I cant say enough about the kind of car Honda builds. All I have done is regular maintenance and tires. Averaging 32 mpg and the car is still worth $10K on trade. What a car, my wife has a C-RV and my next car will be an Accord. HONDA ALL THE WAY!!!

great car, helpful hints to driving it - 2004 Honda Civic
By Matt Winger - June 11 - 10:00 amGreat car. Best way to get the most mileage is to coast when you can, and on long stretches to get yourself to your speed and then give enough gas to maintain the speed. At one I was getting 50 miles per gallon doing this. It also helps with recharging the battery. Coasting down hills or approaching red lights that might go green soon helps with gas mileage and the battery.

disapointed with gas mileage - 2004 Honda Civic
By KMag - June 11 - 10:00 amI lover the vehicle. It rides real nice. Handles the road well and looks sharp with the spoiler. I love everything about it except that I was very disapointed with the mileage. I ride mostly highway and have filled up the tank several times and I am averaging 27-28 miles to the gallon. This I found very disappointing because I only baught the car to save gas and I thought that I would get better mileage than this. But I do love the car.
