This Year's Model Updates:

In typical Honda fashion, the Civic receives a number of minor changes this year in order to keep it fresh. For the coupe and sedan, there's new exterior styling, including restyling for the front and rear bumpers, hood, headlights and grille. Inside, the audio speakers have been upgraded, extra sound deadening material has been added and floor mats are now standard in the LX and EX. The LX trim has slightly bigger wheels this year (15 inches) and standard keyless entry. A new value package contains air conditioning, a CD player and a new center console. For the Si hatchback, there are new headlight and taillight designs, larger 16-inch wheels and flashier interior trim. Like the regular sedan, the Civic Hybrid has updated styling, standard floor mats and improved speakers. It also has a new interior console with an armrest, adjustable rear headrests and a manual driver-seat height adjuster. Finally, all 2004 Honda Civic sedans and coupes have a new seatbelt reminder system.

Pros:
  • Fuel-efficient and environmentally friendly engines, roomy interior, reputation for durability and quality, impressive crash test scores.
Cons:
  • Top-of-the-line models are pricey, antilock brakes not available on DX or LX.

I purchased my first Honda in 1999, great car. Had the idea that a small SUV would be a better vehicle for me.Purchased a Ford Escape in 2003. I kept this auto 7 months returned to a Honda Civic with great pleasure even though I had to take a loss in original costs. I have saved in the long run with fuel mileage alone. I love my Honda Civic.

I love the Civic. Best car Ive owned so far with the exceptional gas mileage. Wish Honda could have put a bigger engine or came out with a V6 model for the EX and with a little more standard features. All in all a very great car that will probably last forever.

This car is one of the best cars Ive owned. Almost no complaints. Great gas mileage, almost 35 mpg, looks greats and runs amazing. Off the line it can keep up with most 6 cylinder cars. Mine is only a 4. The tires that came with it were too soft. Needed to be replaced way too soon. Also, its hard to see out the back when backing and theres a big blind spot when changing lanes. Not the best winter car. My gas line constantly freezes and since the car is so light, it can be very hard to keep control in snow. Suggest putting a little weight in the car for snow. Otherwise the car is great. During summer, can open sun roof and windows, and enjoy a nice drive. All in All, great car!

Honda lives up to its reputation in that this car gets great gas mileage as well as good reliability. No major problems with my car which currently has 58000 miles on it.

  • What a ball to drive!!!! - 2004 Honda Civic

I took delivery on 2-1-04, and i have been tickled ever since. From the moment i first drove it, i knew i wanted it. The dash lights are so neat in blue, and all is laid out so that you know what is going on with the Engine, and electric motor.I too wish it had a sun roof, but i can live without it. CVT transmision is so smooth, you dont feel anything. 500 hundred miles or so on a tank of 13.2 gallons of Reg.gas is amazing.

I love my EX coupe, with a spoiler and a sunroof, and alloy rims. Though recently I have had to crank it for 2-3 seconds on a cold start. But mine has 90k miles on her, and i kinda beat the hell out of her for the entire time. And I bought the extended bumper to bumper warranty, so Im not too worried. The seats are great for long trips. Large trunk for an economy car. And Im a college student so that is important. I always tell my friends to buy a Civic. They are the only car that actually lives up to its reputation, for the better

I love this car! Its sporty, saves a lot on gas, and is fun to drive. My other vehicle is a Durango so I refer to the Civic as the "Anti-Durango". I have driven the Hybrid over 15,000 miles in 10 months. I feel comfortable in this car.

I was originally looking at the Civic EX for the exterior design, fuel economy, safety, and sporty options (sunroof, spoiler, and wheels), but was convinced by my wife to explore the hybrid for the fuel economy. Once I drove the hybrid after driving the LX and EX I was surprisingly pleased by its handling and acceleration capabilities. It didnt have the options I was looking at, but I hope the fuel economy solidifies my decision for purchasing the hybrid. I have tinted the windows and definitely plan on changing out the aluminium wheels to make it look more sportier.

  • Still love it - 2004 Honda Civic

After driving my Honda Hybrid for over 30,000 miles and to both coasts of the country, I still love it. Lots of pep and fun to drive. Two friends have already bought thier own after seeing and driving mine. Only draw-back is that it will need snow tires in prolonged winter driving conditions. It also was sluggish going over Vail pass, or any high, long, mountain pass.
