Model Overview:

Since its launch in 1973, the Honda Civic has been one of the most popular compact cars sold in America. Its success can be attributed in large part to its consistently high level of quality inside and out and its long-standing reputation for reliability and low running costs. Impressive fuel economy and engaging performance have also played a role in making the Civic a top choice for many Americans.

The competition has largely caught up with Honda, though, and there are now many excellent small cars vying for your attention. Still, we continue to recommend the Civic due to its ergonomic interior layout, wide range of models and high resale value. For small-car shoppers in search of a solid used vehicle, the Honda Civic is certainly a smart choice, as its long production run and many variants make it easy to find what you want.

  • Love my first new car - 2006 Honda Civic

I just bought my first new car a little over a month ago. I purchased a black 2 door coupe and splurged for fog lights from the dealership for $500. I always get compliments about the car and how it looks. I researched about about this car for 6 months before getting it. I could not be happier. Great gas mileage and awesome stereo. I have only one complaint. My dash seems to chip off easily. I am talking about the sparkly pod segment that wraps around the speedo and stereo. I knocked into it two times and the paint literally chipped off. I was surprised due to hondas superb quality reputation. Other than this little complaint, I am truely happy. I would recommend this car to all

The car has served my family well. No problems we have had it for a year and were at 25,000 miles and no problems. The performance is nothing special, but ride an comfort is great. Gas mileage is a dream even with the gas prices were they are.

Not a bad car, no longer a top nae in the sport compact markt, needs mre power to compete with similarly priced dodge srt-4, and svt focus

  • Wow!!! - 2006 Honda Civic

Nice solid vehicle. Love the new styling and interior design. Great handling and smooth ride. Interior is quiet and well designed (for the most part). Mileage is fair for the first 3,000 miles (32/gal.) in mixed situations. Would highly recommend this vehicle. Agree with many reviews that the LX model should have a 60/40 split and cup holders in the back. Stereo sounds great but would like the 350 Watt option available on LX (volume is great with windows closed). This care is definitely one you should test drive if you are looking for a stylish and reliable vehicle in this class. Atomic Blue Metallic color was worth the wait.

  • The 2008 Honda Civic Coupe - 2008 Honda Civic

Good news and Bad news: The Good news is that the Honda Civic Coupe looks hot, reaches 36 mpg on the highway, it was pretty fun to drive, and costs under $15,000. Bad news: The car LOOKS hot, but it really isnt, the headroom makes people annoyed, and it isnt a luxury car (at all). The Civic coupe is best for teenagers who want 0 to 60 times of under 8 seconds, but who dont want to break their budget. Its a nice compact car that isnt so show-offy. It gets good gas mileage. It was pretty fun to drive. If it was given a grade in school, it would be given an 85%. Its a solid car, just nothing special.

  • Going green has tradeoffs - 2007 Honda Civic

Do not buy this car if you are wanting a comfortable ride. Im 61 250lbs. It is very hard to get in the driver seat. The steering wheel has to be all the way in the up position and the seat all the way back for me to slide in. The seats are very hard and uncomfortable. The parking brake handle is located where my knee stays on it while driving, this will make your knee start hurting in about 10 - 15 minutes. I had to put a small pillow next to the brake handle to make the pain somewhat tolerable. Road noise is loud, I mean LOUD. The BIGGEST problem I have experienced is the cupping that occurs on the back tires, see below in the suggested improvements.

  • Best car to own by a student - 1992 Honda Civic

I gave this car all tens because it never let me down. I commute 35 miles 5 days a week to school, in Vermont, and it always took me there, no matter how bad the weather was, or how deep the snow got. Having a low clearance its very stable while cornering. And mileage, only a hybrid would get a better mileage than this car. I will remain with Honda and drive this baby for as long as it can take me.

I bought a 1995 Honda Accord ex about 2 years ago and even that car stills runs good. I swear you cant kill a Honda. After that one i needed to upgrade and I did. I just love this car, I wish it was more powerful but hey its only 140 hp what do you expect, but overall this is a very solid car, I cant wait to drive it again!

Bought this car a few months ago and love it. Sporty, looks good, comfortable, solid, and performs well for this class. Not the fastest per se, but balanced in all areas. Opted out of the summer tires because of snow, and it still handles great. Have owned Hondas for 21 years now and I dont regret this purchase at all. 2 tier dash works really well, stereo is decent and USB system rocks. Combination of size, handling, efficiency. The ride is firm, but not harsh, I dont understand all of the complaints about road noise. It is competitive with others in the class. I still love the high revving nature of Hondas, over brute power.

I purchased SI about one month ago and I still get excited when I get to drive it. Simply a blast to drive. I came from a Nissan altima 3.5SL which was sneaky fast in a straight line but handled horribly. This car handles awesomely with only slightly less performance. This is without the summer tires. I live near St. Louis and we usually see at least some snow so opted for the all seasons. Best of all I can drive the heck out of it and get 28 mpg (yes I use the vtec). That is the lowest I have gotten since owned usually getting 29 mpg. Granted it is premium fuel, but I usually got 25 mpg with less aggressive driving in the altima. Excellent fit and finish.
