Overview & Reviews
Since its launch in 1973, the Honda Civic has been one of the most popular compact cars sold in America. Its success can be attributed in large part to its consistently high level of quality inside and out and its long-standing reputation for reliability and low running costs. Impressive fuel economy and engaging performance have also played a role in making the Civic a top choice for many Americans.
The competition has largely caught up with Honda, though, and there are now many excellent small cars vying for your attention. Still, we continue to recommend the Civic due to its ergonomic interior layout, wide range of models and high resale value. For small-car shoppers in search of a solid used vehicle, the Honda Civic is certainly a smart choice, as its long production run and many variants make it easy to find what you want.

[non-permissible content removed] - 2010 Honda Civic
By Dan Sylvia - July 14 - 11:09 amThis car I got a good deal on getting for about 14k used with roughly 35k miles. Gas MPG is way off, theres no way I get 36 highway or 28 city. Acceleration is very poor especially coming from a 6 cylinder maxima. Car is a good first car maybe because of its poor acceleration and ease to drive. Not really a fun ride, however it is reliable. I havent had to repair anything and now Im a little over 60k miles. Im personally not a fan of the car with the way it drives.

2013 LX civic "prone" to hail damage - 2013 Honda Civic
By Marty Lundeen - July 14 - 10:04 amTo reduce vehicle weight the metal skin is very thin, compared to earlier models...press on it, and you can dent easily. This is the second time in one year that i have suffered significant hail damage. A diameter of 1/2" will do it! If you dont have a garage, I would not purchase it. Other than major draw back, its a nice car.

bad paint - 2007 Honda Civic
By Jessica Jarvis - July 12 - 3:06 pmi love the way the car runs, very reliable. research the paint color you are buying because there are some that have had problems cracking. Nighthawk black pearl is the color of my car and the hood and front bumpers look aweful. They are cracked more than any car that i have seen this age, and i have taken good care of the car. interior is decent. exterior gets 0 stars, the paint stinks.

Somethings you wont know until you own one. - 2012 Honda Civic
By genegenre - July 6 - 1:29 pmI am writing a review here because I have a 2012 and, aside from a few tech mods and bits of shiny trim, they havent changed much since 12. I use my Civic NG for auto parts delivery. It has 190,000+ miles on it. So far the only two things to go wrong are the wheel bearings beginning at 60k. I had kept my tire psi at 44! Since having them changed at 103k, I havent begun to feel any wear as I have deflated the tires back to about 34psi. I tried to change the front fuel filter and damaged the housing. Cost was around $600. The + side is that you really only need to change the filters about every 50k miles. Dealer charges $80 for labor for the front (I do rear). My mechanic charges $15 labor.

Love my Civic SI - 2015 Honda Civic
By kb24goat - June 10 - 2:27 pmOverall the 2015 Civic SI is a great vehicle, I use it as my everyday driver commuting 30 miles daily. This is the first Honda I have ever owned and I fell in love as soon as I test drove the car. Because of the short shifts, the car definetely feels faster than it really is, but do not get me wrong I still think it is a little underpowered, but for what I paid for the car, it is something that I can live with. To me the sedan option seems like a no brainer since either way you still get the same power, and in the sedan you get a very comfortable backseat. The wheels are usually a love or hate thing and to me they are easy on the eyes.

I couldnt do it - 2006 Honda Civic
By caine2375 - June 3 - 6:03 pmI live in Minnesota. I live at the bottom of a hill that turns into an ice rink during the winter. Last winter that got my civic stuck at least twice on days I dared to challenge mother nature. I was prepared today to trade in my civic for a 4wd vehicle, a hyundai touson. I couldnt do it. The honda has been an awesome vehicle. I bought it used and other than routine maintenance I havent had a problem with it. The MPG estimates are crap, though I still net 37.8mpg over the last 9kmiles. The car runs fine, it takes a little getting used to it shutting off at the light. It takes a bit to get going but hums along at 75 errr 65 just fine. I keeping it for my non winter driving thankU

5 Stars Across The Board - Best Car Built - 1992 Honda Civic
By cool_breeze1 - May 31 - 10:45 amBest built car ever in my opinion. Great built, reliability, design, fuel efficiency, repairability. I still have this car - 156,000 miles, body and frame are still holding up after a decade in salt country, parts are easy to find, inexpensive, easy to replace. By the way, this is the second one I have owned and real MPG is actually BETTER than the government-stats posted online - this one gets 38 MPG highway, my previous one got 44 MPG highway, both are in the 30s in the city - better than many older hybrids without all the batteries. I dont drive it any more but really cannot part with it because it is a rare gem of an auto - one designed with quality in mind rather than profit.

Choices - 2015 Honda Civic
By askabry1 - May 23 - 10:58 amIm a long time Honda fan, returning to the fold. End of the day, there are STILL no free lunches. When you look at the Accord EX-L and the Civic EX-L, you will simply give up speed and size to gain MPG and dollars. Fit and finish of materials are good. The array of technological controls are mind-boggling if that is cool to you, at this price point I cant see where youd do better. Bottom line, is the juice worth the squeeze? All in (no games on trade-ins), Accord EX-L w/4cyl, $10,400 for three years of lease ownership. The Civic is $8600, plus 10-12% savings in gas/ins. Hard to justify it.
