Some people complain about the steering feel. True; there is slight vibration felt in the steering wheel at times during low CVT ratios, such as idling and slow acceleration. If Honda engineers isolated the driver from the steering feel, some people would complain about the lack of feedback. As the automobile evolves, and safety, reliability, economy and performance (CVT) are improved, the experience of driving necessarily changes. Until I have a self-driving car, I expect some steering feel and other feedback that engages me in the driving experience. The 2015 Honda CR-V hits the sweet spot of the current generation of the CR-V.

  • Update to Vibration Free 2015 EXL/Nav FWD (Its NOT!!) - 2015 Honda CR-V
    By -

In my initial review written 24 Feb, I was too hasty in bragging about my vibration free CR V. Yesterday I had a very brief (maybe 2 seconds) profound yibrstion/thudding episode. It happened immediately after starting my warmed up car. Before I could figure out what was going on, it stopped. 300 mikes later, no more vibration episodes. If people are experiencing this routinely, I understand their concern, because this is unacceptable. I hope I did not mislead anyone with my initial glowing review.

  • Disappointing - 2015 Honda CR-V

I wanted the flexibility and fuel economy of a smaller SUV. I got all that, plus a lot of other things I did not bargain for. The seats are firm and uncomfortable. The driveability is completely uninspiring - I wasnt expecting much and still was disappointed. The in-car audio/hands free system was a complete disaster. Music would start playing halfway through a phone call. People on the other end of the line had great difficulty hearing me through the hands free microphone. My dealer could/would do *nothing* about this. The controls on the steering wheel are not intuitive in the least. The second screen mounted above the main entertainment system is spectacularly useless. Dont ever try to do a thing with the LCD screen while making a right turn because youll be subjected to the right side mirror mounted cam which serves little if any practical purpose. The headlights are SO bright that you cannot drive this vehicle at night without others flashing their bright lights at you - even when yours are not turned on. I made a huge mistake in purchasing this vehicle and am about to do something Ive never done before - turn a car in after less than a year with it.

  • Massage chair set on vibrate - 2015 Honda CR-V

Want a massage during your mani /pedi? get one on this car. Great for a 15 min massage but extremely uncomfortable on long journeys or sitting in traffic for a long time. Plus the steering wheel rocking wildly back and forth after the Odometer reaches 14,000 miles while the transmission is slipping does not feel as safe or comforting as a massage.

  • Get the Service Bulletin 12-046 Vibration Fixes! - 2015 Honda CR-V
    By -

Unlike many who complain here, I have been thrilled with my purchase (2200 miles) with one small exception: some minor vibration at idle (about 600 RPMs). Honda now has a fix for this, as well as two other forms of vibration at higher RPMs (termed modes 1, 2 and 3). I had the mode 1 fix for the idling issue done today, and, voila! NO VIBRATION AT IDLE! I am thrilled. My fix involved new transmission and lower radiator mounts, neutralizing the engine mounts and some software fixes. Everything seems tighter now, and am hoping mileage will improve as a result. Some have mentioned that you have to sign a disclaimer on mileage, but I dont recall that I did. Absolutely no charge and about 90 minutes of your time. Do it and be happy with your purchase again!!

  • Update on previous review - 2015 Honda CR-V

We now have about 1800 miles on the CRV and we still like it a lot. The MPG has gone down to about 24 in mostly city driving. However, it has been very cold the past several weeks here and I expected our mileage to suffer. The vibration while stopped at traffic lights and during acceleration is still there but it does diminish greatly in sport mode. The vibration is clearly due to the very low RPM the car tries to maintain when you stop or accelerate. I can live with the vibration (or the lower mpg in sport mode) as long as the vibration does not impact reliability.

  • CRV Touring - Well Worth The Wait - 2015 Honda CR-V
    By -

Traded my 2012 CRV EXL Navi for the 2015 AWD Touring. What a huge improvement. Quiet, significantly improved performance, better ride and handling. The electronic "safety" additions work as advertised from Lane Keeping to Adaptive Cruise Control. MPG is improving with each tank full. Expect warmer weather will improve more. Quality is much improved. Seems more rigid and better screwed together. Build quality appears perfect.

  • Whats with all the vibration complaints - 2015 Honda CR-V

i guess all the people complaining about vibration are expecting this vehicle to act and sound just like their older cars. I have owned 3 other CR-Vs, 1999, 2004, 2011. I now have a 2015 2wd Touring. Yes, it vibrates a little. It has a different transmission than the old type, and it kind of works like a bicycle derailler. its gonna have some different noises then you are used to. Ive had this one since October 2015 (yes, I did get a great price, the 2016s were out already) Hasnt needed any service, the first oil change will be due soon. None of my CRVs had any major problems and I will stay with CR-Vs in the future. I have had several because the previous job I had required the use of my car and I regularly put between 25000 to 35000 per year on all of them. My current job doesnt require as much driving, so this one should last a lot longer. One last note to all the whiners and boycotters, LEARN ABOUT YOUR VEHICLE the controls, the differences from previous models, the cameras, (I like the rt side cam, use it when changing lanes, exiting tricky ramps from freeways) Great car, will never buy anything else.

  • The best SUV!! - 2015 Honda CR-V
    By -

I love my CRV TOURING. But the brakes sound like their dragging when the vehicle is cold. Every time I take it in for service I tell the dealership about them and they tell me their fine. I HOPE SO!! Makes me a little uncomfortable. The back up camera needs a beeper if something is in the way. But other than those 2 things all is great!! I depend on that Honda reliability. I drive 80 miles a day to work. I need it.
