  • Perfect, almost - 2002 Honda CR-V

I was drawn by the exceptional improvements over the 2001. The rear wheel disc brakes, metal timing chain, greater interior space, the 100,000 tune-ups, and the greater engine size/power, for the 2002 left the 2001 CRV in the dust.

This really is a good vehicle, but Im surprised at how poorly the tires have held up, the paint quality is poor and has anyone ever backed-up into something???? I tapped another car in my driveway and was surprised at how the back side fell apart. The body side molding unattached itself from the metal and oh my what a dent! That was from a little tap rolling out of the garage. I am really beginning to worry how safe this car would be if it were rear ended. Has anyone encountered any rear end damage???

  • Not up to typical Honda quality - 2002 Honda CR-V

This CRV is a disappointment. All the struts had to be replaced before 32K miles--the right rear twice! Cruise control never engages on the first push of the button. Its hard to get into 1st gear and is very difficult to put in reverse without major gear grinding. It has a high frequency vibration at 60-70MPH that comes and goes. New tires improved it but not completely. Factory tires are junk. Rear door strut failed, and had to be replaced. There is excessive road noise, especially at highway speeds. My dealer has been super in helping resolve problems. Ive had more issues with this vehicle than with all the other 4 Hondas Ive own combined. Next car: Highlander.

  • A big improvement! - 2002 Honda CR-V

I used to own the 98 CRV EX. Just returned it and got the 2002 verison. I have to say, all of the complains I had for 98 model have been addressed. The car now looks a lot better and drives a lot better. I really like this one. I am also 6 ft tall, but didnt find any problem with the seat.

  • Not as tight as my VW - 2002 Honda CR-V

Althought I do very much like the CRV, its build quality (fit and finish) is not comparable with my 2000 VW golf. The plastic body molding is out of alignment, the tires are not good at all (Ive actaully replaced them already), and the cabin noise seems to be on the loud side. I wish it got better mileage as well.

  • Wise Choice - 2002 Honda CR-V

Excellent performance overall. My only complaint would have to be the paint job which is very easily marked by the slightest contact. I have driven my CRV on lengthy road trips from Florida to Virginia several times and can honestly say that I have no complaints. My CRV has received three recall notices for minor adjustments which I could not notice as far as performance goes. The only time I used the warranty was when my door lock on the drivers side would not accept the key. I will soon have 60,000 miles on it and have replaced the tires once and make sure my oil is changed every 3,000- 5,000 miles as suggested.

  • BEST!!! - 2002 Honda CR-V

This is the best SUV for the money! bar none. I just traded in my Lexus RX400 and use to own Nissan Pathfinder. This car has "everything you need not want." I read that from an article and I agree.

  • Happy I chose the CR-V - 2002 Honda CR-V

After an extensive search for a vehicle (I took my time, wasnt in a hurry) I picked the 2002 Honda CR-V EX as my first choice and after several weeks, I know I made the best choice. This vehicle is comfortable, easy and fun to drive, attractive, roomy, and has plenty of power. The CR-V 4cyl holds its own and gets better fuel mileage than the vehicle with a V6 I traded in. For me, thats important. When compared to competing vehicles, the CR- V is clearly the winner.
