  • Best vehicle we ever owned - 2002 Honda CR-V

Its a Honda, what else can I say. We owned an 1998 CR-V and traded it for a Nissan Xterra thinking we wanted a "bigger" suv. Needless to say after a few years we really missed the CR-V. We ended up trading back to the 2002 CR-V and have been enjoying it ever since. Its not only reliable but overall a very economical vehicle to own. The CR- V is also very comfortable to ride in on long trips. It rides like a car but at a higher view point of the road. Our next vehicle will be an new CR-V, probably a 06 or an 07. I reccomend this vehicle whole heartedly.

After testing driving the Ford Escape, Nissan Xterra, Toyota Rav & Forerunner, Hyundai Santa Fe, the Honda CRV topped all of them. All of the others were V- 6s that I test drove, none of them had the ZIP that the CRV had, and its a V- 4. The car is spacious and plenty of legg room for passengers. I must say the design is getting better I disliked the earlier design which is why I would have never considered buying earlier models. You cant beat the reliablity also.

  • Love my Honda CR-V - 2002 Honda CR-V

I plainly love my CR-V. I have at work a Jeep Liberty that is not even as half as comfortable as my CR-V. I even have transported passengers that are over 6 feet tall and feel very easy and comfy in the back seat of this apparently "small" SUV. You need to try to really agree with me. It is one of those cars that are useful and fun to drive.

Everyone who sees and or rides in mine assumes its a run of the mill $30,000 car instead of a sub $20K one. (Editors never fully seem to appreciated this accessability.) And of course, theres always that piece of mind, in those cold and wintery days, knowing youre in a Honda.

  • On the fence - 2002 Honda CR-V

Did a lot of research before purchasing my CR-V. Traded in a Honda Accord V-6. I was really afraid the engine would be a big difference. I was wrong. Little to no difference. Gas mileage did take a dive though. Got better mileage with the V-6 for some reason. My biggest complaints are the loud road noise (due to the bridgestones) and Im unable to clearly see out the back window due to 3 headrests. I keep the back seats down most of the time since I have few backseat passengers except the dog.

The new CR-V has provided the perfect match between long-range driving (comfort and great gas mileage) and easy around town/day trip excursions. There is plenty of room and its a peppy performer. Some folks knock it for noise, but having had a convertible previously, it seems very quiet to me!

  • 2002 CRV-EX a solid winner - 2002 Honda CR-V

The new CRV has real pep - transmission seems to get the most out of the engine, including acceleration at highyway speed. Stable too, supposedly because of 500 lbs of steel strengthening the frame. Moonroof is also quite welcome. Nice to have "options" standard. Car not seduce you with design or style; it wins you over with sheer practical appeal. Dash is very easy to use. Wonderful for hauling from flat floor to great fold-down seats without removing headrests. The walk-thru is super. Only wrinkle is that I seem to get 19mpg around town... highway is more like 23 at best. The car also needs a deadpedal to rest the left foot. But its an easy car to live with.
