If want a mini off-road vehicle then dont buy a CRV. However, if you want a versatile, fun-to-drive, economical and surprisingly spacious mini-SUV, the CRV cannot be beat. Save yourself a few thousand and buy the 2WD LX model. It still has a lot of nice features and handles fine on steep dirt roads. You can purchase most of the useful Honda add-ons like security, keyless entry, enhanced sound system, etc. by buying these items through the web and installing them yourself. I purchased the car through a broker who charged me the Edmunds Invoice price plus $700. The total price was still less than MSRP. Ive been driving this car for 2 months and have had no regrets. Way to go Honda!

So far I like nearly everything about this vehicle. My only complaint is that I could use a little more leg room.

  • Cdn Dealer Invoice - 2002 Honda CR-V

Spent the past many weeks searching reviews, and test driving vehicles. Drove the Escape, Vue and CRV. Honda ended up being the lowest cost, packed with the most features and best fuel economy. Found that by purchasing the vehicle outside Calgary in High River, I saved over $1,000 on the best price any local dealer would provide. Used carcostcanada.com and paid the subscription fee to find the actual dealer invoice. For $50, it saved me over $1,500!!! Also found that demand at Saturn is very high, so they are not motivated to deal on trades or price.

Overall,I love driving our newcrv. My main disappointment is that the gas mileage has not turned out to be as good as posted. I do like the drive and the extra power you put into the vehicle and the side airbags add to my feeling of safety. It takes hills much better now. I love the 6-cd changer. Overall, we are very happy with the vehicle. The only down side is that I think our dealer sells them for too much.

  • Not one problem in 5+ years! - 2002 Honda CR-V

This car has not caused me one problem in over 5 years. Why would anyone consider anything else besides a Honda or Toyota. They keep going and going even more so than the energizer bunny.

I love driving this car in my neighborhod and in the highway. This CR-V has enough horsepower for a little SUV. The sound system is great and i love the sound of the bass when i play my music. The remodel is better looking than the older model of the CR-V and i admire the exterior design because is so hot!

  • 1800 miles and already broken - 2002 Honda CR-V

Today my one month old CRV stalled twice within a 5 min. period. I drove straight to the dealership only to be told they probably wouldnt be able to find the answer. Turns out there is a "bulletin" about this very problem which requires the computer to be reprogrammed. Uncomfortable seats, frequent fill-ups due to small tank and higher than promised mileage, and loud road noise all add up to sub- par transportation. I miss my Blazer!

  • Like but a problem - 2002 Honda CR-V

I like my vehicle when I bought it and at the current time. I bought my vehicle brand new. Once it reached 60K miles, I begin having mechanical problems. I had to replace the O2 sensor at $500 and after that was fixed, I had to replace the throttle body which cost approximately $1,000. The sensor within the body needed to be replaced but you had to purchase the complete throttle body for the simple part.

  • 80,000 Miles No Issues - 2002 Honda CR-V

Our CRV, which we bought new, is completing its 5th year on the road. So far nothing has gone wrong yet. I think thats pretty amazing. The vehicle also still looks very good. There is some small pitting on the hood and the black side rails are faded. I got 45,000 miles on the original Firestones and will change the next set at around 90,000. The recommended maintenance intervals are too far apart. Do the spark plugs at 75,000 and change the trans and coolant fluids at around 60,000 miles. Also if you notice a rumbling during slow tight turns, have the rear differential pump fluid changed. Change the pollen filters. When they clog, the AC works harder. That may be why compressors go bust.
