  • Best car I ever owned - 1990 Geo Storm
    By -

I bought this car in New Jersey when I sold my 1978 Mercedes for 5 times what I paid for it in California. I couldnt say no! Then I needed a car to drive back to California because I needed to pick up my dog in Texas. I had a 560 SEC Mercedes in storage and was going to give the Geo to my son. After driving it to California I loved the car! I have been driving it since I bought it. Put almost 100 thousand miles in about 5 years and only put brakes and tires on it!

I have had the worst luck with this car. When I first bought it, it had no radio, and it did not have the climate controls, someone pulled them out. The first day I got it, it was in the shop for a spark plug being stuck in the motor. Then the exhast system had to be replaced. I was driving it one day and it died, the head block and the distibutor went on it about 4 times. Then I had no brakes or shocks those were fixed, and then my manifold went. Overall I have put in well over 1,600 dollars into that car, it was a bad investment.

  • Amazing Vehicle - 1992 Geo Storm

I bought my 1992 Geo Storm in October of 2005 with only 92,000 miles! I could not be happier with my little Geo. Ive had no mechanical problems with my Storm at all and just parted with it at 120,000 miles and it still ran like a beauty. I recommend it to anyone looking for a first car. It will not let you down. The gas mileage is also unbelievable. I used to get about 32 mpg!!!

  • Great Little Car - 1993 Geo Storm

I bought my Geo Storm GSI in 1994 with 11,000 miles on it and have only had to take it to the dealer once to have the timing belt replaced. I added a cat- back exhaust system and a intake cooler (K&N) and it totaly rocks. Highly recomend it for its reliability and responsive drive. I put about 10000 mi yearly on it. 27- 32mpg.

  • Good first car - 1990 Geo Storm

Car has had many miles put on it yet o mechanical problems. Only problem that i have had was its exhaust pipe from the header detached. 50 dollars to repair. I rarely maintained it and it still ran no problem. I crashed it just the other day because a bus side-swiped me. Lost control and then ended up in a poll head on doing roupghly 35-40 mph. Airbag went off and i was fine. Walked away with no problems. Car held up really well. Its a shame cause its resale value is so poor that insurance will only give me the blue book value which is so low that its less than the price of the same model geo that people are selling it for.

  • Best First car One Could Ask For! - 1992 Geo Storm
    By -

I just bought this car about a couple months ago for my first car and I couldnt have asked for a better vehicle! My 1992 Geo Storm might be 13 years old and have 92,000 miles on it but it runs like new and can really fly! The car is great on gas, and hasnt given me any problems yet! Bring back the Geo Storm!!! I want a 2006! lol

  • Still Going...... - 1992 Geo Storm

I hate to admit it but I love this little "bubbleback" car. 2nd one Ive owned in 15 years. This little thing can zip around with the best of them. Saw 125mph one time. Looks as good now as it did back in 92 and we all knew economy cars would make a come back eventually. Good mechanically. Timing belt bit the dust at 158,000. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO CHANGE BELT AND WATER PUMP!! I can honestly tell you it is more of a pain than its worth. All that aside its a great car.

  • Dependable car for a budget! - 1992 Geo Storm

Got this car as a hand me down to get through college on and it ended up being the best thing I got. Ran it from 97,000 to 120,000+ with minimal issues before I sold it in favor of a new Cavalier which ended up the worst choice of my life. Was fun to drive with the stick and sipped gas. Space on the car bites but when you need something to get you from A to B that doesnt look like you pulled it outta a junk yard this fun little car with lots of character is a great pick. In a near accident I cracked a pipe on the exhaust so mine ended up noisy and fun like a cheap sports car!

  • This has been a good car. - 1990 Geo Storm
    By -

I bought this car in December of 1993 and it has been a good little car. It is fun to drive. I have had only your typical minor repairs. It has been very reliable. The only complaints that I have is that it is too small to hold more than 1 passenger and the paint on the car fades.

  • Super car - 1992 Geo Storm

I purchased this car at an auction for 150.00 in May of 2003 with 147,000 on it. We now have 167,000 and still going. This is a great little car and very inexpensive to maintain and easy to work on. Total investment in this car after 20,000 is 200.00 in struts. Great mileage at 31 p/g with new plugs only!
