Overview & Reviews
GMC's strong-selling Yukon heads into 2002 with few changes. The 5300 V8 is now ultralow emission certified (ULEV) for California. For states with less restrictive emission requirements, the Yukon offers flexible fuel capability with the use of cleaner burning gasoline blends. A more efficient starter, more durable steering gear housing and LATCH child seat attachments anchors round out the Yukon's upgrades for 2002.
- Powerful V8 lineup, roomy cabins, extensive list of standard features.
- Interior fit-and-finish concerns, still too similar to the Chevy Tahoe.

GMC Yukon - 2002 GMC Yukon
By Katrina - June 2 - 11:53 amI love this vehicle. It is just big enough to haul everything and small enough to enjoy! The ride and comfort surpasses any vehicle that I have owned in the past. The only complaint that I might have is the access to the 3 row of seats..but then I very rarely use them and dont have to get ride there anyway. There is not anything I can say bad about my vehicle. In the 3 1/2 years that I have driven this vehicle we have only had to replace the starter and one of the u-joints.That in my opinion can only be called reliability to the max!

Easy to drive - 2002 GMC Yukon
By Bob - July 7 - 5:06 amOur Yukon is easy to drive. It has been totally reliable and we like the way it handles in traffic. We have carried 8 passengers at times with no noticeable effort or reduced handling ability.

Good SUV - 2002 GMC Yukon
By Lee Medimaolle - February 8 - 1:52 pmThis the 2nd Yukon Ive owned. The combination of an excellent engine, solid ride, and good looks make it a great value. Additionally, repairs and replacement parts are inexpensive. I would recommend this SUV very highly.

No problems. No worries. Nice truck. - 2002 GMC Yukon
By AzMax - June 1 - 2:00 am62,500 miles and not a single repair. This is my third vehicle of this type (two Tahoes and one Yukon) and I will buy a forth when Im done with this one. Vortec 5300 is smooth and powerful making it a breeze to merge and pass on the freeway. The tight turning radius (better than a Camry or Accord) makes it equally at home around town. The 2WD is a much better ride than the 4WD version in my opinion.
