  • Drive Train OK - 1994 GMC Suburban

My truck has a 454 in it so you can imagine the gas that it chugs. I like the old 454 for their cast iron blocks. However, replacing the pitman arm, left front wheel bearing, alternator, starter, water pump, hydro boost pump, rear drums, valve cover gaskets, and more to come, I think am begining to lose confidence that I can actually drive this truck "till the wheels fall off" without spending far too much on keeping it on the road.

  • Just keeps on ticking - 1994 GMC Suburban

I bought this truck with 192,000 miles on it and it was clean as a whistle. I now have 233,000 miles on it and it just keeps going. It doesnt use any oil and its dry as a bone underneith. Im looking at buying a 96 model and its the same clean as a pin and it has 161,000 miles on it. I hope its as good as the other one. These are both GMC vehicles.

  • Great family vehicle - 1999 GMC Suburban

This is my first Suburban, and I am very impressed with the ride and handling. This is a great vehicle for long drives or short drives. The brakes could be better and need to be adjusted regularly, but other than that this has been a fairly reliable vehicle. We have plenty of room to spread out, so that each child has his own space. MPG isnt good, but we knew this before we purchased.

  • Happy with used GMC Suburban purchase - 1995 GMC Suburban

Purchased this used with 52,000 , and it has been very faithful for us. I pull a 30 Travel Trailer with no problems. It will hit 100,000 this month.

  • Look Out! The Bus is coming through! - 1998 GMC Suburban
    By -

My wife and I have had the pleasure of driving this beast for over a year and have yet to have a major problem. Its definitely BIG, but people out there tend to give you the room needed for handling such a beast. Handling-were both surprised how the "Bus" drives and handles. Id recommend a good set of Michelins and not the all-terrain tires...it definitely takes away from the ride! Around town, its great...off- road (mud & sand), not a problem (old set of Dunlop AT tires). Word of advice- be prepared for $45.00 plus gas fill- ups! Normal city / highway 12.5 to 13 mpg! Not bad for safety, quality, looks, and road command.

  • The First of Many - 1995 GMC Suburban

I purchased this `95 Suburban new. Since I ordered, it had everything I wanted and needed. I have been very pleased with its performance and handling. At the 100,000 mile mark it went in for new tires and the installer just had to remark on what a nice truck it still was. We are so pleased that we are about to pick up a 2002 Yukon XL, equiped much the same except we moved up to a 3/4 ton to pull a larger trailer. I wouldnt have anything else. I do hope that we are as pleased as with our last purchase. A terrific truck!

  • WHAT A TRUCK - 1997 GMC Suburban

There are a few things to look for when buying. 1. Make sure it has LT tires and not P, the passenger radial tends to pull even though the alignment is good. We just spent over $500 putting 4 LT tires on and it rides a heck of a lot better. 2. Make sure there are good shocks. The dealer claimed to put on new shocks, they spent $11 a piece. They are wrong for that class of truck.3. Check for maintenace history. 4.Have FUN. We did the 100k tune up,and it runs like a champ. The gas mileage is about 15 mpg, but the tank holds 40 gallons and we can go a long long way on a tank.
