  • Great little truck - 1994 GMC Jimmy

Bought truck in 1997 with 42K on it. Have made numerous trips to Ohio and Back 600 miles one way. Only major problem is well known EGR valve. Fixed and have had no problems since. Didnt have to replace water pump until 135K. Vortec 4.3L V6 is very powerful and strong motor, brakes are good. Interior has held up fairly. No leaks @ 135K impressive! Still running strong and plan to drive it until the wheels fall off.

I bought my Jimmy used. The only thing that went wrong with it was the VCM Module,it was giving me false readings like service engine soon lite would come on.I bought it with 84000 miles and paid 8999.this vehicle is in mint condition.

  • Never Again a GM - 1995 GMC Jimmy

This was the worse vehicle I ever had in my life. To start with it had like four recalls on it. The transmission went out twice. Both times over 1500 dollars!! One time with just over 60,000 miles on it and GM would pay a penny towards it! The power brake booster also went out, that was another 500 that GM cost me. The motor that shifts the truck into four wheel drive went out too, that was another 550 that that GM touch. The fuel injector leak gas into the motor. That was another 900.00 to replace. This are just the major problems that I had with the truck. Please save your money DONT buy GM vehicles!!!

Our Jimmy has been a pleasure to own and drive. It is comfortable, we drove it to Maine. In 2 years we have had no repairs, just maintanence. We have driven it 45,000 miles in that time. The Jimmy is smaller than most others, but we like the size for urban driving.Iwould buy another one.

  • no more Jimmy - 1999 GMC Jimmy

A new water pump, heater core flushed twice, replaced heater core, replaced radiator, replaced wheel barring casing and $2300 later I have had enough of the Jimmy. I like the look of the vehicle but the repair bills are killing me. This started happening at 50,000 miles. I had the vehicle serviced as recommended, flushed and changed everything. Just a very poor coolant system. Time for another vehicle.

  • Right Size - 2000 GMC Jimmy

My husband as a 2000 GMC Yukon which the family LOVES, so my little Jimmy is just used to haul me to work and back. Its just the right size for me (the Yukon is a little scary to drive for me). We had an oil leak from day one, and took 4 trips back to the dealer to fix, and the headlights were WAY out of wack, but other than that, no real issues. My lease is up in 8 months, and will probably turn it in. I have my heart set on the RX300

  • Problems - 1995 GMC Jimmy
    By -

Fuel injector poppets $600 repair at 60K miles, Fuel Pump, A/C compressor x2, power door locks, $200 EGR valve x2, Transmission dump at 110k, never towed anything, perfect oil change schedule, good regular maintenance schedule. This vehicle has inherent problems not due to owner abuse! BUYER BEWARE!
